I will need to confirm this. I spent a deployment in Bosnia and serbians tend to be very loyal to each other. This is interesting.

I was sitting behind the Wolves bench tonight with some friends, Darko played very well. Best center play we've had in a long time. He was exhausted in the second half, still played well and showed a lot of heart out there. We kept chanting for him to go back in, seemed to work, lol :)

Outrageous stat of the night: Timberwolves +35 with Darko on the court tonight.

I thought he did very well while out on the court tonight, kept a lot of balls alive, played pretty good D, converted most of his opportunities and generally made good decisions with the ball. He also provided a quality post game quote.

"I was trying to focus on breathing," Milicic said. "I was just focusing on breathing so I didn't die."

Might have been the quote of the night, if not for Bill Walton calling Kahn a "visionary leader".
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

Did that really happen?

Yes, it did. It was funny because earlier in the game Jim Petersen referred to Walton as the king of hyperbole. Then, before the game was finished, Walton delivered, right on cue.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

Whenever the 7-foot lefty center was on the floor, the Wolves surged. They outscored the Thunder by 35 when Milicic was in the game -- his plus-35 was one fewer than the plus-36 Kevin Garnett and Trenton Hassell recorded in a rout of Utah on April 6, 2005, and one more than Damien Wilkins' plus-34 vs. New York last month -- and he played the game's final four minutes while Al Jefferson (minus-37) watched from the bench.

"I didn't expect to be able to play this much," Milicic said after playing for the first time since Nov. 13.

He also didn't expect to be on the floor with the game on the line at the end. And he certainly couldn't have imagined that the hometown fans of his fifth team in seven NBA seasons would call for him by name.

"The crowd was unbelievable," Milicic said. "I heard the cheers, but I was just trying to focus on breathing so I wouldn't die."

It's only one game but for a guy who hasn't played in months and is just learning the system, I have to say I was impressed with what Darko did. I think he has a very high BB IQ. He rotated well on defense and his pass to Wilkins was great. I think Love really excelled next to him as well.

^^^ I also notice Love ... he seemd to run the floor better than any other time this season., too. Darko moved his feet more in one game than Jefferson the last 10. We'll see if that's an inigma or real live defensive ability...
Flip response to Love wanting out, "He has no reason to be upset, you're either a part of the problem or a part of the solution"

He moved his feet more than Al and Love combined for the last 10. Hopefully those two can learn something about defense from Darko. He can also give them a good example of how to create a passing lane for a driving wing player. Or how to make a quick decision with the ball.

So glad Darko showed a bit of what fascinated me about him so many years back, he truly is a good basketball player. Tekll you right now, if he gets drafted 15th or 20th he would now be an integral part of a very good team. If Orlando doesn´t suddenly change course and gets enamored with Lewis he´d be part of one even still.

He did kind of pack it in in Memphis due to their losing "culture", hope he embraces the suck (no offense !) for this last weeks and then can decide which route to take, see what the Wolves plans are or go back to Europe (or get interest from another team) .

Fact is, he won´t suddenly go into "yeah, NBA rocks" mode if he has a few good weeks (and he hates loosing, so it´ll be iffy still) after what has happened to him. He´ll have a big fat "what if **** starts again" in the back of his head.

Someone on the ESPN board suggested that Darko might have been undiagnosed bi-polar after listening to a crazy rant of his in Serbian after a national game. That would actually go a long way to explaining why he had such a hard time in the NBA. If that's true and he's on meds now, we might have gotten a pretty big steal out of NY.

I'll be eating some crow if he keeps this up consistently. Hopefully the crowd support will help him be less disgruntled.

For those of you who get to see Wolves games on a regular basis, continue showing love for Darko! I don't care if it's over the top. The only way he's going to resign with us is if he sees how endeering our fans are. He just had a kid, so the next contract he signs will be in a place where he can comfortably raise his family.

DARKO DARKO DARKO!! Keep it up guys.

Cool that he had a good game.

Hope he can keep this up and resign in the summer.
