I put this together with my Nets fan friend.
#1, Bobby Simmons, Trenton Hassell for #2, Al Jefferson, Corey Brewer

Nets $14,910,000 (expiring) Wolves $15.652,540 (save $742,540)
Brings our cap space based on shrink's "Expected 2010 Cap Space" to 28,457,830? :o

After first round picks - #1 $4,152,900 #13 $1,549,300 (we don't get it when it's 12 right?) #25 $896,200
$21,859,430

Any counter offers I should make to him?
Would leave Ryan Gomes as the last of the McHale era so Khan has no excuses

Simmons expires this year, so i don't see how he can be included. And that is an extreme amount of value to give up to move up one spot and not get a long term wing or big man back. Couple this with the real possibility we dont get the Cha pick this year to take a project big man and we get absolutely destroyed IMO.

The difference from Turner to Wall is not worth Jefferson and Brewer to only get crap back. If we wanted both #1 and #2 then yes, but not to move up.

Technically, a team can't trade expirings past the deadline, so the trade is really

#1 + cap space for #2 + Al Jefferson + Corey Brewer

You have it in the right thread though, but I just wanted to mention it in case you and your friend wanted more flexibility to avoid salary matching concerns.

As for this trade, I think it would be tough for me, and it depends on how big you see the gap between 1 and 2. I think Evan Turner would be a nice fit on the floor, better than Wall. However, Wall would be a marketing bonanza, and probably has a better chance of being a superstar, so he's certainly worth more. Al Jefferson more? That's a a toughie.

I'd probably do #4 + Al for #1 + cap space. Of course, NJN would want to wait to make sure they couldn't grab one of the elite free agents on their own with the cap space.

Some NJ fans that I read aren't too pleased with Devin Harris on the floor, and I'm wondering if the gap between the top two picks would make a deal like #2 + Flynn for #1 + $2.66 mil in cap space?
