Both of your trades are terrible for the Wolves.

1. No interest in Hinrich, you don't pay $9mil for a back-up PG when you already have a solid one at $4mil, and Rubio.
2. I can live with that because of Turner.
3. Why are the Knicks in that trade? And no interest in Dalembert. He's not smart enough to play in our system and he's overpaid.

You could have done better.

Let me show you a real offseason plan...

1) Al & Gomes for Harden + N Collison (exp)

2) Turner

3) Flynn + Cha pick for Ind pick ~7ish? - Monroe

4) Utah pick Varnado

Monroe
Love/Varnado
Turner
Harden/Brewer
Sessions/

Trade 1 & 3 overpay a ton on MN's side, but not nearly as much as the trades in your plan. Plus look at that lineup! It's sick...

Mn can then use capspace to fill out the roster.

I'm not even sure I could construct a better young triangle core than this if I tried once rubio is over. The only thing this teams missing is a hybrid 3/4 which is probably something we can get in FA in 2011.

aka add $10,000,000,000,000,000,000 in payroll that will handicap us for years for less talent...hey but at least we will be more balanced!

Hinrich is so much better fit next to Turner than Flynn, I actually started to hate the overdribbling selfish midget, I'm hoping for a good PG to come in and push Flynn to the bench/6th man role or off the team.

Hinrich over dribbles even more than Flynn!

1.) Good pg=Rubio

2.) Your trades show no concept of cap space. kahn is very conscious of our cap situation and would not inherit a nasty contract unless we were able to obtain a foundational player. Your trades destroy our cap and only make us good enough for the 6-8 seed.

There are numerous bad trades in this thread. We should just rename this the "Screw up the Wolves offseason as best you can" thread.

That can be arranged

I'll give it a go;

1. Get #1 pick, draft John Wall.
2. Resign Darko and sign Pekovic
3. Trade Flynn and Charlotte pick for higher pick (like Washington or Indiana), draft Wesley Johnson.
4. Draft Jarvis Varnado or Craig Brackins with Utah pick
5. Trade Al Jefferson for James Harden + capspace + future 1st

And you end up with;

PG: John Wall, Ramon Sessions
SG: James Harden, Wayne Ellington
SF: Wesley Johnson, Corey Brewer
PF: Kevin Love, Jarvis Varnado/Craig Brackins
C: Darko Milicic, Nikola Pekovic

Obviously it would depend on getting John Wall, but I think that's a decent team to surround him with and to start winning AND they still have Rubio as an asset to combine and get another nice piece (could try and get Turner with him depending on circumstances but I didn't want to go down that road). The SL is full of unselfish, two way players surrounding Wall with enough shooting (Harden, Love, Johnson) to allow him room to operate. Pekovic anchors the bench unit with some low post scoring, with either Varnado providing some shot blocking in spurts or Brackins spreading the floor. Ellington provides some shooting while Sessions is a very nice backup to have and Brewer provides some energy off the bench.

And on top of all that none of the players have contracts over the MLE (I wouldn't pay Pekovic or Milicic OVER the MLE) leaving some decent capspace to use or hold onto for future resignings or the new CBA. What does everyone think?
