Re: My favourite trade scenario
I like Wall better than Rose because I think he has better vision and is more aggresive, Griffin had the height issue. It's not by alot, but I'd call Wall the best prospect in the last three years.

I agree, but I'd call turner equal to the 2nd best prospect over the same time span.

Re: My favourite trade scenario
I'd be so happy to get either one, I wouldn't feel the least bit regretful to get either Turner or Wall. (will never happen) I guess what I'm trying to say is you guys shouldn't be working so hard over this, we're going to end up with the 3rd pick and Aminu

The 3rd pick is a really interesting discussion for this team. Completely depends on whether we trade Al or not though, and slightly depends on whether we're bringing back Milicic and bringing over Pekovic.

Doesnt the draft come before we're able to sign Milicic/Pek/anyone?
If we end up with the 3rd pick, the draft would be a major boner to me.

Right, but at that time I would at least hope we have a strategy in place on what we want to do with those guys.

Re: My favourite trade scenario
Milicic isn't coming back. Even if he has looked half decent, I wouldn't spend our free agent money on a guy who's proven himself to be mediocre over 7 years.

I hope he proves we should bring him back. He's already looked better defensivley than any of us probably ever imagined. I would rather spend a little of our free agent money than to use our first round pick on a player that projects to have the same impact on our team (Aldrich).

Yes, yes, yes and yes.

I'm not sure Wall's vision is a whole lot better than what Rose showed in college. I guess he's more aggressive, although Rose did step up in the tourney, and had to deal with defenses focusing more on him, since he didn't have the quality bigs that this UK team has. They both showed the ability to step up in big situations.
Griffin measured at basically the same size as Horford, there wasn't much of a height issue for him at PF.
Wall's up there with them, but I think it's more an eye of the beholder thing than any of them possessing a definitive edge.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

Re: My favourite trade scenario
I'd trust what he did in 7 years over what he's done in 20 games. I don't think he has time to prove that we should bring him back. If we could give him Ryan Hollins roster spot and contract, I'd do it, but that's not possible. Even if we could offer him Ryan Hollins role, I don't think he'd take it.

Even if he proves we should bring him back, it's still a long shot he stays. It would be nice if he did, I think he's shown over the years to at least be a decent rotational big when he gets minutes, and he's still just 24. Then again, I'm somebody who doesn't see us making a splash in FA, so I'm probably less worried about gambling some of it on Darko.

I don't think he's had much of a chance in those 7 years. I'd project Thabeet the same way. If he's going to make an impact it's not going to be until he's about Darko's age. That's why I was so against drafting him and wasting the pick and cap space on a player that's not going to be good enough to contribute to a meaningful team for 4 or 5 years.
For Darko, in Detroit he was too young and didn't get playing time because he was a prospect on a championship team. He was also ridiculed by the fanbase because he didn't have the immediate impact of the players drafted behind him.
In Orlando, he got 1 1/3 seasons where he looked promising.
In Memphis, he languished while only playing a limited role on a terrible team that he didn't fit in with. Really these are the only seasons where we can fairly judge him, and even then he's what 22, 23? His 06-07 numbers aren't too shabby, he just wasn't shooting the ball well.
In NY, he wasn't even given a chance. D'antoni made the decision to play Lee at the 5, and that was that. He's already proven through his limited time as a Wolf that he should have been given at least back up minutes on a terrible NY team. That's pretty much a head scratcher, but so is most things D'antoni.
I would offer him a 1 year deal with a player option for a second year. If he doesn't like MN he can move on. In the meantime, at least he'll know he'll give him a whole season to show what he can do. I have no problem passing on this years big man prospects for next years, especially with pekovic as insurance. If somehow we don't get a pick next year, that would mean the Darko experiment probably worked and he'll want to stay.
