Well they kept it close I guess. When was the last time we kept a team under 100? Or 110 for that matter? I can't even remember the last time they played a solid 48 minutes of defense.

I guess so, but seems like every game we are somewhere between getting blown out by 19 or chipping the other team's lead down to 8 or 6. That the game ended w/ the Wolves down by 8 is just happenstance. If the game was 5 minutes longer it probably would've ballooned back up to double digits.
PS :(

Agreed. Final score was meaningless - after they lost the lead the Nuggets toyed with them. I kind of even doubted they'd have to bring Melo back at all in the 4th.

Rookie mistake by Rambis during the 3rd quarter run. They had Love, then Jefferson matched up with Anthony (the Nuggets went small with Anthony at the 4.) They should have had a counter to that; Melo has played some 4 in the past and Martin was out injured. After Smith hit those three 3s, Melo scored at will against our 4s and eventually Rambis subbed out BOTH Love and Al to play Wilkins at the 4, which destroyed the offense. They couldn't take the punch, ballgame.

Only two positives I saw: Milicic (12 rebounds and visibly better interior D when he was in), although his hook shot is a train wreck. I also liked Brewer's throwdown after Smith's 360 dunk - he didn't like someone going playground on his court, which is a good sign. He's getting better all the way around.

this opposing mindset happens far too often, teams shouldn't be able to have enjoyable stress-free wins all the time. The Dallas game had that same body language too, teams feel like they can coast most of the game and then focus in for short stretches to build a lead and to seal the win. Its the sign of horrid defense, we don't make other teams sweat. Opposing players are always stepping comfortably into shots, there's not enough of instances of the opposition moving backwards/contorting/shooting over hands contesting their shots. Likewise, our offense is always shooting into congestion, we're not getting enough instances of coming off a screen and getting a great open look and getting into the paint and beating the big man defenders with our inside shots.

It seems like the team is short on stamina and also they aren't recognizing what to do on defense, there's always situations where the ball is moving and there's 2 guys in the general area and they pause for a second to see if the other guy is gonna run out because they aren't sure which guy should be getting out there to stop the ball, and then both end up running out late, or else the ball rotates once more for a wide open shot.
