I think I'd rather just gamble with whomever is left for us at 16 or 23 (depending), and use the other pick like we did with Lawson last year. Let's just keep deferring mid/late 1st's until we can offer up a sexy deal for a team looking to trade their best player at the deadline.

Also, STOP ASSUMING WE'LL JUST GET TURNER. Your all going to be very very sad when we end up with pick #4 and have to settle for a complete rehaul on the roster (I'm thinking drafting Cousins, trading Al or Love, and having about 10 new players at least if we don't get turner or wall).

I will be disappointed if/when we get #4, but I'm a big Favors fan, so I could handle picking him and trading Love or Al + any number of assets for help on the wing.

Like, the Harden + Ibaka/Green for Al possibility might be in play if we miss Turner.

Although, even if we drop out of 2, I think Kahn could get Turner if he really wants him. Does NJ or GSW (for example) say no to #4 + Love for Turner? That's a lot of value to turn down. Just saying.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

EEK! Now the only other two teams to get into top 3 territory are GSW and NJ???? There is ALWAYS one team 5 or higher that sneaks into the top 3. Also, SAC has Evans and would look really good with the BPA at there to be determined slot.
I don't think any team would really be willing to part with Turner for more than I'd personally like to give up (except maybe GSW cuz they crazy over there). I can't wait for the lottery so we can finally get back to reality and throw up all the Love/Al + our pick for Turner + small asset deals.

Like I said, "for example." I think we could create a palatable package (that doesn't mean we don't overpay) to get Turner for most of the teams who could end up with the 2nd pick.

We've done so the past two season and it hasn't worked out.

I really think Kahn is going to see how star hungry we are, I mean he's said it before. Plus the fact we have no wings that are starter quality and I think Kahn is going to do almost anything to get Turner. Idk why but I just have that gut feeling. Obviously this means nothing but its good to talk about...With Pek, Love, Al, Flynn, Sessions, Rubio, #16 and #23 we could move up to 2 from 5 even. Would Pek+our pick and 16 work? I think that'd be plenty, depending on if a team likes Cousins/Favors alot I guess.

I'm not saying a total roster overhaul is what I want, I meant to say it's what I expect. My entire mantra until the lottery is to stay grounded in cynical reality. I think that it's impossible to build chemistry when we keep bringing in 1 year guys on the cheap to play with young player who need a system, but that's what we'll continue to do until something pops. I'd like to get a star, but overpaying for one seems like it'd be putting us right back into a hole (see KG era).

We have alot of assests to get a star, or a potential one. We have 3 1st round picks, we have Flynn, Love/Al, Pekovic, Plus the fact that we have a ton of cap space.

I agree, we always end up getting boned. This year is perfect too because it'd going to be really easy to mess up a 3-5 pick w/ Cousins was 12-20ish beginning the season at best, now he's almost a lock at 3 and hebeing kind of a loose cannon and a lot of guys with wildly varying opinions on how good can be and guys that have been all over the draft boards. Seems ripe for lots of "why didn't we draft ______" at some point in the future. Like Orton came out of nowhere, Henry went from a top 5 guy to closer to late lotto territory, Greg Monroe has been all over, Motiejunas too, transfers like W Johnson and Udoh became top 10 players out of the blue, Whiteside a lotto all of a sudden, etc, sigh.... it's a mess, we're going to get the 4 pick, screw it up, and suck forever.
