What could the heat do to get him? Besides Wade?

Beasley + #18 + raw cap space for Al Jefferson would probably get some interest around here. I'd definitely consider that if we had a plan to use the cap space.

Yeah I could get into this discussion too as long as we had a deal to package 2 of those non-Timberwolves firsts to move up back into the Top 10.

And that's a deal MIA would consider, in my opinion. If they can use the rest of the cap space on a third great player to stick with Wade, that new team would be well worth the price.

This would work best if MIN had other, cap-selling deals combined (though it would be less appealing to MIA to arm their competitors. Maybe trade the cap space for a package from CHI or NYK?

With the quality of the free agents available, large amounts of cap space may equal elite players for a few select teams that get verbal agreements. If MIN can play cap-space broker, they can really make a great profit in talent by meeting these teams needs.

You would need to make a 3 way deal moving a Beasley-type and bringing back a better fit for MN. Mia/MN are really bad trade partners.

I think I could make a pretty good case for Beasley. He's on a rookie deal. He's only, what 20, 21? He still has lots of upside and right now he could be had with his stock at an all time low. He's a scorer who's playing off the ball for a team that doesn't really have a point guard and with a star player who mainly looks to score. He would compliment both Pekovic and Milicic nicely on the offensive end and would fit our offense as a face up 4 who could run and play above the rim with Rubio. His defense can't be any worse than Love's.

Say we draft Turner and can trade Love for Johnson. with the #16 pick we would look for a backup PF with some defensive potential, someone like Robinson or Sanders.

Rubio/Flynn/Sessions
Turner/Brewer/Ellington
Johnson/#23 (George/James/Pondexter)
Beasley/#16 (Sander/Robinson)
Milicic/Pekovic

Add that roster to the fact that we would then have $12M or so in free agent dollars even after signing Milicic and Pekovic

I'm not going to war with Beasley as my PF. I want bigs in my big positions and Beasley doesn't play like a big.

I said 3 way with Beasley. That way we use his "value" but not him on this team.

As I said, and got ripped for, unless he is an aggressive SF he is not special.
