Trade 1:DET/MIN/76ers - Trade 2:MIN/SAC

Post#1 » by funkatron101 » Wed May 19, 2010 10:21 pm

Ok, making my own thread for this. Revised slightly.
Step #1
Wolves trade: Al Jefferson + #16 + Pekovic
Wolves Receive: Andre Iguodala + #7
Pistons trade: #7 + Prince
Pistons Receive: Al Jefferson
76ers trade: Andre Iguodala
76ers Receive: Prince + #16 + Pekovic

Why for Wolves: They get a similar player to Turner in Iggy, and get the #7 to package to move up.
Why for Pistons: Pistons fans and Wolves fans like this deal.
Why for 76ers: They shed Iggy's long-term salary, get another pick, a complimentary player to Turner in Prince who expires in 2011, and a potential stud in Pekovic.

Step #2
Wolves trade: #7 + #23 + Brewer
Kings trade: #5 + Greene

Wolves pick Wes Johnson at #5 to go along with Greene to firm up the SF position.
Kings pick Aldrich, Monroe or Davis. Get an improved defender at SF/SG in Brewer, and another pick.

Wolves Roster:
Flynn/Sessions
Iggy/Ellington
Johnson/Greene
Love/Cousins
Darko/Hollins

Wolves still retain some cap space with these deals.

I'd do only the first trade...

I'm fine with it. I don't think the Greene/Brewer add is necessary and I'm not sure Sacramento does it regardless.

I added it because Greene is taller, younger, and cheaper.

Many Kings fans seem to want Aldrich. I think they take this.

We're invested in Brewer though. I'd rather keep him.

I'd rather keep Brewer. If Kings fans want Cole then they can take him @5.

Let's not and say we didn't! The whole thing is just bad from the start!

Love the first trade and just about all variations on that theme.

Part 2 does nothing for me.

Whatever dude, you hate everything.

For those who don't like the second deal:
I'm hoping for Wes Johnson. At #4 I think it would be a waste of of potential assets to grab him, and at #7 he will probably be gone. I think a deal with Sacramento is essential, if we have no chance at getting Turner.

I also wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Donte Greene in favor of keeping Brewer. Greene is 2 years younger, taller and cheaper. Has a better FG and 3pt%.

Brewer Per 36
FG% 3P 3PA 3P% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS
.431 1.2 3.4 .346 2.4 3.7 .648 1.0 3.0 4.0 2.8 1.7 0.4 2.4 3.2 15.5

Greene Per 36
FG% 3P 3PA 3P% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS
.441 1.5 4.0 .377 2.0 3.1 .643 1.2 4.0 5.2 1.6 0.9 1.2 2.1 3.3 14.3

If we get Iggy, Greene could help with our perimeter shooting, along with Johnson.

Funkatron, good idea with that first deal. I think Greene's numbers look more like Brewers numbers in the triangle.

Keep it simple. The first trade works and anyone the team would get at 5 would probably be available at 7 anyway.
