If we land Prince somehow, we shop him at the deadline to a contender for another 1st rounder and a prospect.

Keep him. He's still got a lot of good years left in him, and we desperately need some veteran leadership. I can't see him ever becoming a wolf though.

This is really interesting. I heard a panicked ORL fan on the radio say yesterday that the team was in desperate trouble longterm. Teams were getting a demonstration on how to specifically defend both of their top options, and now that that Pandora's Box had been opened, they were on their way back down, and he wanted to rebuild around Dwight Howard again. That would be a long, painful road for now. Rashard is unmovable, and Vince Carter is unmovable next year. It sounds like I have some grand trade to come up with.

I hope it's a threesome...I mean, 3 way. There's nothing on Orlando that interesting. Which is sad, because between Carter, Nelson, Lewis and Howard they have enough scoring options to keep teams on their toes. In theory, at least.

While he may have value to us, he has more value to another team with play-off ambitions.

I should mention I may feel differently than most, but I have never been a fan of paying players ten times as much to help do the coaches jobs.

If we can trade the vet Prince for a package that includes a prospect and some additional cap space, I think that's a move we should do.

We may not be realistically competing for the playoffs, but I think we may be at the point where we want to win. At the very least we need to see some progress, and Prince has value in that regard.

Sorry, I wanted to include one more option in the polls. I also wanted to see if it would keep the polling results, so I learned something new today.

Milwaukee could be a good trade partner too. They have an expiring in Gadzuric and the #15 pick.

LAC doesn't have a SF right now, but they'd have to offer mostly cap space, with only five players on the roster (Baron, Kaman, DeAndre Jordan, Griffin and Gordon).

Prince isn't worth raw cap space, so maybe a three-way deal, where they move Baron or Kaman?

It really depends on how the rest of the draft and other moves shape up, but I'd lean to holding on to him.

If we somehow pulled off the Turner for #4 and #16 trade, I think he a lot of value to us. If we don't pull off the trade, but wind up with a number of young wings, he becomes an impediment to developing the youngsters with his salary. However, if we get the young wings and Brewer is moved (unlikely) in another deal than I keep him. Of course if some veteran team can offer us a good return or his expiring helps move for another asset with a better long term fit, than we move him.

Keep him.

We need to have sometype of veteran support for our players and the D Wilkens of the world are great, but to have a veteran leader who has a career of winning is who we should want not a veteran who has bounced around.

I wonder if Detroit would oppose any trade involving Prince going to an Eastern Conference team. I don't think they'd be too happy to see Prince in Milwaukee.

Even if the team gets George or Johnson or whoever on the wings, they could still use some veteran scoring there and Jefferson provides it while potentially fitting in better in a system like this then the one they use in San Antonio.

So...Richard Jefferson thread anyone?

I'd do that too, we aren't competing next year and RJ would provide the same veteran leadership that Prince would. Use that extra pick and package it with another one of our picks and move up in the draft, or pull another Lawson type of deal and trade for a future 1st.

That's not a bad idea. Duncan's only got a limited time left, and Jefferson was not the answer - nor would their mediocre pick. If they want to take another swing at the play-offs, and not mess up their 2011 finances.

Yeah I think if they don't manage to land Favors they'll be open to some sort of trade to shake things up.

I think Prince is a far better short-term fit than Jefferson. His passing, defense and veteran presence would be terrific for the young Wolves. Jefferson with Rubio would be a different thing, but he won't be here until 2011.

On the other hand, we have the comedy potential of Al Jefferson and Richard Jefferson on the same team, which I think would make shrink's head explode.

Let's get Ronnie Brewer too.
