Trade 1
MIN: Gomes/Sessions/Pekovic
for
TOR: Calderon/#13

Calderon's contract goes till 2012/13 and he makes too much for a 10/6 guy.

Trade 2
MIN: Jefferson
for
DET: Prince/#7

I like this trade

Trade 3
MIN: Ellington/#45/#50
for
POR: Fernandez/#22

Way too good for us.

Trade 4
MIN: #4/#7/#22
for
PHI: #2

As of right now they want to get rid of Brand's contract plus it would have to be #23 since trade #3 is too lopsided.

^^^ You're overrating Fernandez. Ellington should have as much value as Fernandez, if not more.

The only unique deal here if the Toronto deal, and not-surprisingly, the one I would absolutely not do. The #13 pick in any draft just isn't worth that haul and taking on Calderon's salary.

A straight up swap of Ellingotn/Fernandez would be fine or just swap the 22/23 picks, the point is that Fernandez hasn't been on good terms with the Blazers organization over playing time/role and their trying to bring in Turkoglu. The point of the Calderon/Fernanzdez trade is to entice Rubio to come over and play here next year, I'm sure he'd rather play elsewhere or stay in Europe. Collins said he thought he could get Brand to play better so I'm not sure that Brand is absolutely included in dealing with the #2 plus it would help us save cap room by trading Al for Prince's expiring contract.

Fernandez and Ellington might be equal in value but #22 is worth more then #45 & #50. Just I think we get away with too much.

Still think Calderon gets paid too much for his abilities and to be a backup to either Flynn or Rubio. But I like your thinking
