I don't know why so many of you assume that Kahn had anything to do with any of these rumors you seem to be using as a basis for your thoughts about what he might do. Most of your information about Kahn is coming from bulls**t artists, who get paid for page views, not accuracy.
It's a curious morass of crap to use as a foundation for your fears and expectations.

Khan, Rambis, and Ronzone certainly know what Al is worth. They are under no pressure to win or save money, why would they do anything stupid like sell low?

LOL. He's virtually the same player as he was three seasons ago. Zero improvement. What makes you think that he has the chance to become the best at anything. I'm much more afraid of the opposite, he's already one of the worst defensive bigs and might become THE WORST next year.

Just want to state that I am not trying to promote moving Al. I have no problem moving Al but for value. I personally like Al a lot and still feel we should build around him. (I am the douche who said Al>Durant 2 years ago). My 100% comment was given to me and I am passing it on. I think we are underselling Al big time but the front office seems ok with a top-10 and expiring contract.

I'm ok with Prince + #7. I think many of us are. But when you have to throw in the #16, #23 and take on Wilcox? That is downright crap to me.

I am very concerned that Kahn's desire to show everyone what he can do means that he will feel the need to change the look of the team immediately - on draft night. This would be bad news for the trade value of Al Jefferson, and the timberwolves in general.

That's what I was thinking. Why not wait to swindle some team desperate to make a move after they don't get the FA of their dreams? Instead, an exp. and a crapshoot pick is all it takes? I don't understand, and hopefully Khan doesn't have an ego so big that he needs to turn this into HIS team on draft day.

I'm not convinced Al's trade value goes up this summer. He may actually have to play at a high level again for that happen.
I don't think there's pressure to make a "big splash", but think there's pressure to put a well rounded team that can compete. Specifically, I don't think we can be like last year where were all PG's and PF's and no wings and I don't think we can be getting crushed on a nightly basis.
I also think Kahn wants to progress towards his vision of a running team, which is why Wes Johnson is on the radar. Drafting Cousins and keeping Al may be the best value, but it doesn't get us any closer to being the team we want to be.

I mean, I'm OK with a top-10 and an expiring for Big Al. This rumor is pretty different from that, though. It involves taking on even another expiring, and throwing in #16+#23, which I view as roughly #10.

It would be interesting if OKC trades into the top-10, misses out on whatever big they're trying to get, and can pick PG for us, in an expirings + Paul George trade.
