Indifferent to this, but I'd probably do it. Offensively he can play the 3 thats his game and he'd be a good fit here imo. Defensively he'll just get smoked as most of the good hybrid 3/4's play the 4 most of the time.

eh. Rookie deal. If he blows up sweet. If not then let him be a 3/4 off the bench that just scores. This is similar to the Darko deal and that did great for us.

Hes got a team option before the season starts (a la Brewer last year), correct?

otherwise, its worth the risk. He can be a 3/4 guy off the bench and take over Love's roll as 6th man.

Agreed, no reason not to hold off on this until after the draft, unless we want a 2nd thrown in or something. Landing George would be much better use of Gomes.

But if we don't need him to grease any other deals, I'd be more than OK with this.

2010/2011 is guaranteed. 2011/2012 is a team option at just above $6M.

Yes, but I think that team option has to be decided BEFORE this season if I remember right.

I really hate the idea of a 6'7" SF but if its just for Gomes, I will take the risk.

We need more talent, Beasley for all his faults is still very talented. If this goes through i say solid deal
