2 Solid NBA stars? Who? None of them have played a game.
Stop living in a dream.
We don't have a clue who the stars are, if any, in this draft.

I kind of doubt anyone here is going to stop watching the Wolves over any of this. But this draft was a really bitter pill to swallow. We made some really safe picks and a few bizzar things that don't make any sense. Its tough watching just about every team get better by a leap or a bound while we just make a little shuffle like a 90 year old woman in a rusty walker; putting little Dora the Explorer bandaids on our bullet wounds, hoping that shot we ordered a year ago shows up a year from now in hopes of making us feel better.

I really do hope it gets better quick with FA and trades, but we did not start well with using the value of Gomes here.

Hello.

Call me what you will, 24 hours removed from this draft I'm already starting to like it more and more.

Apologist if you like it, whining reactionary prick if you do not.

I love this time of year.

If you honestly believe that Johnson is going to be the guy to come in and carry this team, you're deluding yourself. Kahn has said from the beginning that it is his "#1 job" to get a star, team-carrying guy. A guy you can give the ball to with the confidence that he'll be able to create his own shot. That, or a guy you can pound it into the post and get a bucket at will. We got neither of those tonight. Johnson is just another piece--not a centerpiece.

Kahn said himself during a post-draft presser that we didn't get our centerpiece in the draft. You think it's easy to get Lebron/Melo/CP3/KD/Kobe type players? Nope, so don't blast Kahn for not being able to get one yet.

The draft is a crapshoot. We know very little at this point as to who will become great players and who will bust. This is why you can't just freak out over one draft night. I would've liked the draft to go differently too, but you can't say it's the end of the world when none of these players have stepped foot on a court against NBA players.

No, it's not easy to get those types of players, but we didn't even come out with a player who might become that type of player. Sure, we haven't watched any of them play in the NBA yet, but that's a cop out -- through scouting/discussion, we have come to general consensuses about different players' upside potential. I think we had the assets to get anywhere in the draft, outside the top 2, fairly reasonably, and we should have gotten players with higher upside. I think, generally, the consensus should be more right more often than Kahn's personal views.

Sure, it's not the end of the world, but given what we know now, I don't think we did very well. All of our players might end up being awesome, in which case props to our talent evaluation, but regardless, we still have a poor sense of valuation. I don't think it's unfair for wolf94 to blame Kahn.

Calinks, you had some classics two years ago

Just shows how everyone buys into the media hype every time, only to be later proven wrong.
