Ronnie Brewer
The Grizzlies did not extend a qualifying offer to Ronnie Brewer, which seems really odd given how much they gave up for him. This seems to make it more likely that they'll do anything to keep Gay, either that or they're just posturing.

Brewer is not a good fit here. We've acquired so many wings that I'd personally only consider adding wings if it was a starting quality player on a good contract.
Sadly, David Kahn doesn't seem to think like that and it seems like we will overpay for Gay.

I actually think Gay will fill a big need for the team, but I agree that 1 Brewer on this team is enough. Our Brewer shoots better too.

Re: Ronnie Brewer
If we get another Brewer, we might as well go after Boozer. Then the team can have their own AA meetings OR drunken Love Sessions.
I've been a fan since the beginning and I will be until my end.

Re: Ronnie Brewer
Ronnie seems like a bad fit for our offense since he can't shoot. Not what Kahn wants in a wing.

i would much rather have Ronnie than Corey. I live in Utah and watching R. Brewer play here, i think he is a great player. and in my opinion better than C. Brewer.

Corey = $3.5M commitment
Ronnie = $20M/4 years

Re: Ronnie Brewer
Not enough of a talent difference from Webster/Brewer/Johnson to bother spending money.
The next step is clearly the Al Jefferson situation.

Doesn't Ronnie have a much better handle than the other 3.

His pre-draft profile was similar to a poor-man Evan Turner. He never showed that, but that could be do to the pg dominate system of Utah.
He will likely sign a Sesssions type contract late in FA, or be a back up plan to the teams that struck out against the big prospects.

I'll take Corey Brewer, I felt he was one of the only players who played his heart out every single game.

Re: Ronnie Brewer
yea, and if Corey is off the bench he can just go balls out hustle knowing he is limited in minutes.
but I worry we trade him.

Re: Ronnie Brewer
I'd like to roll with a rotation of Johnson/Webster/Brewer with Ellington picking up the slack. I think that would be a good wing rotation. Of course if we could add Iguadala or someone of similar talent, Brewer seems the odd man out. Ronnie Brewer is not of similar talent to Iggy, though.

I see. I kind of look at it like he has earned his minutes for this year from putting in the work last year. I think signing R. Brewer would be a low blow to Corey. What scenario do you think we lose Corey in?
