Who declined faster, Michael Jordan or Larry Bird? I don't think its been proven to be true that more athletic players decline more quickly.

Bird was due to his back injury. So i do not think that really counts.

In a couple years (when Rubio is hitting his prime) Lee would be at the likely level of McDyess where as Love will be in his prime as well. Why trade old man for young guy.

Even if you don't like the example, it seems like most players who are still playing at 35+ were considered pretty athletic at 25.

Secondly, I don't think we should be building for Rubio's prime. That's too far away, we should be building for 2-3 years from now.

Thirdly, we're trading Jefferson for Lee, not a huge age difference. It may mean we're also trading Love, but that could be for another young buck.

Yea, I am assuming a Lee trade means love is gone, and I do not see a wing I would like for him at his value level.

That is why I am upset. I am neutral/apathetic about the Jefferson/Lee thing if that was all there was to it.

Neither of those guys does anything different for me then brewer. No where near Love's value.
