PT; esp. wingplay

Post#21 » by Gadbwah » Tue Sep 28, 2010 4:56 am

Rambis has unequivocally stated that players will have to earn their PT.

This means that Brewer is our early on starting SF/SG. Beasley will get his minutes at SF/PF. Webster will obviously have an edge on the wing/guard over Johnson, since he has been watched by Rambis for many years and has the experience.

Thus, the only way that Johnson finds anything over 15 mpg is if he truly shows that he has the chops for an all-around game. Until then, he will be learning the ropes against the second team of our opponents, in general. Otherwise, he can watch Brewer spot up for 3's and ram the ball down mismatches' throats all night. Same for Beas & Web,

And just for good measure -- for all of you who forgot so quickly::

Brewer RULES.!

Brewer is going to need to show that his outside shot was not a fluke, but also that his defense and finishing ability can beat out Webster and Ellingson.

It seems like Kahn has something against players that were here before him. Webster is a similar player to Brewer and bringing him in might show that in his contract year he is moved. Simply for value. Then follow young's min chart with Ellingson in his spot.

Always with the Ellingson Rev. Is there a running joke i don't know about?

Ellington, ahem, is the "surprise" of camp so far.

He's been improving every year, and imo deserves to show what (if) improvements he's done again this year. If nothing, then you bench him. I dunno about starting the rookie off with 30 mpg is the right thing anyway, now with the improving Brewer here.

I do not agree with that last one. I think Corey's experience in the offense will help him earn a starting spot. If not, he will start the season as 6th man at the very least. Wes will not get 30 right away, especially since hes still dealing with the hammy. The starting SG is between Corey and Martell. The other 4 spots IMO are pretty much set in stone.

Ridnour (35) / Telfair (13)
Brewer (30) / Webster (15) / Ellington (Spot)
Beasley (36) / Johnson (12) / Hayward (Spot)
Love (33) / Tolliver (Spot)
Milicic (32) / Pekovic (18)

I actually traded brewer to GS for the pick they owe NJ and Kris Humphries (with B Wright going to NJ as backup PF) in my franchise, and gave dr ellingston brewer's minutes.

That was before I got sucked into My Player mode (which is awesome until your mode crashes unrecoverably due to stupid random trades and injuries).

any news on Darko? I'm only asking because I'm really wondering how he meshes. If Darko, Love, Beasley, Brewer, Flynn works we will be a massive team.

I'm still drinking Brewers Blend for now. I'm thinking he and Webster become somewhat of a wash production-wise, where both put up the same positives and stats but will battle each other for minutes all season long (or until a trade).
