I like a good dark ale - I've had some good Scottish ales - but I need to try some Belgian brews. Can someone give me recommendations that I would be likely to find here?

I don't know if you can buy them somewhere but I can recommend "Stella Artois" (my absolute favorite beer) and "La Chouffe".

Okay, that's not really surprising. Getting the latter of the two would be somewhat difficult to get I think. I think it's only a micro-brewery and quite difficult to buy even in Europe.
