Beasley Gets Prime Real Estate

Post#1 » by Klomp » Wed Oct 13, 2010 4:45 pm

* Beasley has inherited the prime locker spot in the team's Target Center dressing room, the one where Kevin Garnett held court all those years and which Al Jefferson later took over.

Beasley sounded a bit in awe when I told him his corner locker was prime Wolves real estate, until Kevin Love, just a locker stall or two over, piped in and told him this:

"That just means you're going to get traded," Love said.

Kevin Love: A bit dickish.

I'm sure he wouldn't say if he knew Beasley would take it seriously.

Love just can't pass up a clever joke.

I thought it was funny. I mean, I guess he could have said "That means you're gonna avg 20-10", but that doesn't have the same humor tones as "You're gonna get traded" lol.

On paper it sounds a bit dickish, but I'm going to assume it wasn't.

Oh, I say that with all the love in my heart. No pun intended.

He might like the, "That means your going to get a fat contract," perspective better.

judging by the little we've seen, I'm pretty sure Beasley is dishing out 50x what he gets in return

I think you could make the case that having any locker in that room means you're going to get traded, at this point.

I like it because it makes me think that those two might be getting along. For all the lip service that Big Al might have paid, I never got the idea that he and Love were anything more than teammates. I don't know if we could ever be as close-knit as the OKC team appears to be, but we're young too, and maybe it could happen.

I was there when the comment was made and it was nothing more than a great "zing." Love and Beasley already get along better than Love and Jefferson did at any point.

I think some people on this board better brace themselves for the chance that B-Easy really isn't all that good...

Depends on your definition of "all that good," I suppose....

He has every physical attribute and is fully capable. I just think his basketball IQ is low, which directly impacts him being "good", imo.

The article on consistency was a decent example of this. As is his preseason. Will be fun to see if he flips the switch, so to speak. That's what I think it's gonna take.

A couple of his biggest problems are his understanding of the offense and his ballhandling (at least thus far). Even when he scores going to the hoop it looks out of control, although his turnovers have gone down a bit since the start of the preseason. On the other end, I would never expect him to be an above average defender. Don't ask me why. I just don't think he has it in him.
