Aschburner's Article on '04 Game 7

...Which brings me to my favorite game: Game 7 of the 2004 Western Conference semifinals, Sacramento vs. Minnesota.

Whaaa? A second-round game? True. It was not a Finals game, nor did it determine the champs of a conference. It was just a second-round clincher between two teams that won nothing that year or, for that matter, any year since. It does, however, rank as the ultimate game for a franchise and a player that I covered daily for nearly a decade and a half...

Great write-up with a few memorable clips. I love the quotes from KG at the time, would have been an amazing game to go to. It's just such a shame that whole era ended the way it did.

He used to cover the Wolves? Maybe he should replace Zgoda...

Yeah, he wrote for the StarTrib. (or was it the PioneerPress, I can't remember now).

Yes, Asch used to write for Star Tribune. I'm pretty sure he doesn't live in the Cities anymore, but it's always great to chat with him when he is here for a game. For those who know where I sit during the games, he usually sits to my left when he's in town.

This. Although I don't have the game somewhere. I got his 47 points performance (and Mark Madsen's late game heroics) on DVD though.

I was their for that game. After C-Web missed that corner three at the end I thought the building was going to fall in.Greatest game in Wolves history,I still have my towel they handed out for that game and my ticket.

God I miss those days of KG,Cassell,Sprewell,Madsen,Hoiberg,Wally....ect sometime over these last few just teribble years I wise that FSN would just replay the 03-04 season and not even broadcast the real games.

That was also KG's greatest season.

PPG-24.2
RB-13.9
AST-5.0
BLK-2.2
STL-1.5

One of the greatest all round season ever for a PF.

It really pisses me off he we get twins replays from like 2008 and crap but we can never get any classic wolves. I would to see our entire playoff run that year. They should play that leading up to the season.

I just want kg comeback when his contract runs out, make a couple of seasons like mentor and twolves retire the 21 jersey. That is a good (not a great) end.

Only problem is that FSN did not broadcast those games.

It's a way different situation anyway, but I guess you can get pissed off at whatever you want.
