Meanwhile, at recent NBA meetings in New York, fellow owners re-elected Taylor as the league's chairman of the board of directors. The NBA's labor agreement expires after this season, and commissioner David Stern is saying the league needs to reduce player salaries by about one-third. Taylor, who has lost millions of dollars with the Timberwolves the past several seasons, is also on the NBA's labor negotiating committee.
"What David said accurately reflects the proposal that we gave to the players and the background information we showed them about why we need some adjustments," Taylor said.

"I call it holding people accountable," Taylor said. "Now you can say that we've brought in a number of players that the coaches have asked for. So I think you can hold them accountable and say we want to see the results."
To that end, Taylor signed off on an aggressive price cut for season tickets. The Timberwolves slashed many seats by as much as 50 percent, with some in the lower bowl at Target Center as low as $10 per game.
"We're loose," Love said after a preseason game. "It's almost like the Boston Red Sox when they had the idiots. You remember those guys? That's kind of how we are."
