Webster - Everything I've seen is that we want Webster to be a 6th man, not starting. This potential deal would not affect that.

Beasley - In my mind, Beasley is the one who would be shipped in the deal. He is the only one I'd want to "see what he can do" before making a trade. So far, I'm not completely sure I like what I've seen.

Didn't think of it this way but I suppose you're right. The only thing I'd be worried about is that the team wouldn't have anyone that could become that #1 option offensively. Beasley at least looks like he could be when his head is on straight, but Igoudala certainly isn't and neither is Webster. Johnson is too early to tell, but I kind of doubt it with him.

You have a valid point on the salary. However, look at it from a different angle. We have retooled our roster in the year plus since Kahn's arrival, and are now waiting for that "one singular move." I think this could be that move.

Why are we better with Iguodala than Philadelphia has been? At this point, I don't think AI is enough to make us any kind of contender.

Well, obviously. Trades of this magnitude don't happen this early in the season anyways, so its not like we're wanting it to happen tomorrow. I think this speculation is geared more towards the trade deadline period.

Fair enough, but I don't know how anyone can have a solid opinion on an Iguodala trade until we've got some games under our belt.

Agree, and also, I agree with Klomp that Iggy/Johnson could work. Webster 6th man (and IMO - Ellingtons and Brewer filling smaller specific roles). Beasley is the most talented player we got, but I'm not seeing him adapting to a system ... this is the risk management pointed out when they acquired him, so at least they've acknowledged this already.
Flip response to Love wanting out, "He has no reason to be upset, you're either a part of the problem or a part of the solution"

This could make us functional enough that we would be more appealing as a destination to free agents.

I think especially as Jonny, Snipes and Pek develop, and as the offense gels, this becomes an interesting team for free agents with or without this trade. Especially once Rubio comes over.

The way I see this working is that we give up Beasley, a draft pick and one other player. I like the Lazar Heyward suggestion in particular, b/c if we kept Brewer and had a frontcourt of Rubio, Iggy, Snipes, Brewer and Webster, we would be MONSTERS defensively, have great ball movement, and several scoring options. Love and Tolliver look like they will be good for the 4 (assuming everybody gets along and plays hard), and Pek and Darko are our 5's for sure. Then in a year or two we make a trade for a bigtime number one scorer, or else pick one up in free agency.

The advantages to this trade would be that Wes could play his natural position and that our defensive intensity would go up by a factor of 10.

The risk is that Iguoudala might hate it and be crabby and muck up the chemistry.

The obstacle is whether Philly wants to try to get Turner and Beasley to share the ball (which doesn't strike me as easy).
