Tyrus Thomas?

Post#1 » by Stephen S » Thu Nov 18, 2010 9:20 pm

Is Tyrus Thomas someone we should consider getting? Is he a 'big' improvement over Tolliver as a sixth man?

I think he might be.

Does his contract make it problematic?

I think it might be.

Anyway...

Just a thought.

No need for Tybust. I would much rather go after Anthony Randolph.

He's younger, more athletic and a better inside threat than Tolliver but I'm not sure if he's good enough for us to trade for, especially for one of our own younger prospects.

He's a bit overpaid for my tastes but he definately fits the mold of the player we need.

Randolph could probably be had for cheaper and less risk.

So...we have Tyrus Thomas and Anthony Randolph on our radar as long athletic skilled versions of Ryan Hollins on our radar...anyone else we should consider?

Agree on all three points.

I like upside, athletic young bigs, but Tyrus is a risk with a 5-year, $40 mil contract.

We have Kevin Love at PF. Thomas is paid $8M/year.

The front office targeted him this offseason, didn't bother trying to match that kind of contract, can't see them looking to do so now.

And can you imagine Thomas in the triangle. Ugh.

I'll take Ant and his tiny contract over just about any backup PF. He does it all

and Tolliver shoots it better and plays hard all the time. I'd prefer a guy like Tolliver to a malcontent like Thomas. I like Tolliver alot actually and don't think he is our big reserve that needs to be upgraded.

Tolliver>>Thomas for his role. He is a vet that plays defense and has a good bbiq. Thomas is not the character guy or someone that understands he is not promised minutes.

Save the money to resign Love and Beasley.

Another role player that won't get minutes. Sounds like we'd be paying him a lot of money to not really play. I'd rather just wait after the 2011 Draft before making any additions.
