Do what? Come over next year? I thought that was his plan all along? (By next year, I meant 2010/2011)

Well, when I said announce it, I was meaning after this next season, but before free agents begin to sign.

You guys got things twisted. His play for Barcelona has been dreadful this season. He's better off coming next year to avoid hurting his value even further. It's not like he's miles ahead of the competition in Europe. He really isn't, even though he can be a very good PG.

Minnesota should grab him as soon as possible before he digresses.

shrink wrote:Ricky Rubio has probably gotten more national press than any of the 2009 draft pciks, even Blake Griffin. People want to see the kid play, and the younger he is, the more "wow" factor the audience gets. Rubio could change the attitude if the typical MIN sportsfan about the team, and doing it now, with McHale out, would probably make it easiest to tell them that the wolves have turned a page. And of course, Rubio will be a cash cow.

However, my preference probably leans toward seeing him here next year. I'd like to give Flynn a year, to see if he can make good on those lofty Chris Paul comparisons. Rubio might improve us a little too much, costing us not just one more high lottery pick, but actually losing the pick altogether to LAC.

I can't say I'd be disappointed if I heard Ricky was coming over today, but I think it might be better for the wolves longterm if we got him next year.

This.

Too add to it, I think we benefit by having a better year (hopefully 10 wins better) and being able to say we are growing, but what we are really missing is you Ricky. It could hurt if we don't have that year to grow because he came now and messed up the young budding chemistry we have. Next is perfect for me.

Didn't even realize that Shrink's post was a year old. Who brought this topic back?

I still say next year. We are looking better right now and I think we will have the wins to prove we are moving in the right direction.

When do you want Rubio here'?

Wrong question. Rubio decide where he plays next season, not Timberwoles. :eyebrows: and I hope he plays next season here. I don't want he waste more time in Europe.

IMO who opened this poll, cpfsf , must be punished with fifty lashes. It seems this forum has infiltrated a Knicks Fifth column.

I hope it's OK that I ask you a personal question but aren't you somehow connected somehow to Barcelona?
Sometimes it's looked like you care about the team, not just about Ricky.
Also when you said that you don't know whether the ACB360 works outside Spain made me think that you are from Spain.

My answer to the poll question: never.
I'm a fan of European basketball.

Rubio must play in the NBA and the Wolves have his rights.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
