Based on?

Al least based on his history in Europe.

He doesn't have the tools to be a good defender based on his history in europe?? That doesn't make a lot of sense to me. But okay. Big baby was an atrocious defender coming into the league. He's still not great, but he's improved leaps and bounds. No reason Pekovic can't continue to improve as he's done throughout his career as a professional. We can bring in a shot blocker to replace Pekovic, but then he wouldn't have the post game Pekovic has either.

Why can't we do a Pekovic/Tolliver bench?

They project to be backups, and I don't know that our core is set. A year from now Pekovic might be the better fit. We also have a bunch of assets to fill the role of athletic big man.

I just thought Wright would be a cheap get. An athletic big with a lot of upside left. Once Webster gets back we won't have much time for Brewer. Three of the more notorious Warriors posters suggested they would do a Brewer -- Wright swap. If that's all it took, I would certainly give up Brewer for a look at Wright. If Wright didn't pan out we wouldn't lose anything and would still have all of our assets to find a replacement if we still felt that was a need.

Because if Darko picks up 2 early fouls you have to roll with Love/Pek lineup which is really bad defensively or go small with Love/Tolliver which puts Love at center which far from ideal.

and I didn't mean that Big Baby is a good defender at all he just give much more effort than Love. Pekovic can try hard on D but he lacks physical tools to be good and I suspect smarts as well.

And I'm done arguing about Pek, he's a back up that is not important to this team.

We need to give Pekovic some time, obviously, but I'd be surprised if he's here long term. He just doesn't fit what this team really wants. He doesn't run the floor well, doesn't move the ball well and will probably be an average to above average defender, based on his physical tools.

I don't know. I like him but I'm trying to stay realistic.

he needs to learn not to foul so damn much so we can at least benefit from his offense

True. I think he also has to work on his passing. He doesn't have to be Milicic, he just can't be Jefferson
