Bill Laimbeer appreciation.

Post#1 » by fleet40 » Thu Nov 25, 2010 7:48 pm

It is safe to say that the front court has blossomed over a full year of Laimbeer's direct tutelage. He is most directly responsible with the work on the bigs. And Love and Darko are becoming all-stars before our eyes.

And if Darko becomes what he is capable of becoming, (14P 10R 2B 3A) then give Laimbeer a head coaching job asap. The man would have done what no one thought possible.

Though I do agree with your praise for Laimbeer I do think you are over-stepping the mark slightly. If Darko becomes an all-star well I think I'll plat piss. Darko won't average 10rpg with Love on the court either, I think it'd be more like 14 ppg, 7/8 rpg and 2bpg and 2/3 apg.

Love's a possible all star but Darko just has that reputation that'll be very difficult to turn around. Though I think he's one of our key players and a brilliant defensive player. I'm a big Darko fan but I think we need to be a bit more realistic.

Rambis isn't doing too much of a bad job at the moment, we could easily have 7/8 wins but due to our inexperience, naivety on the court we've got 4.

I love me some Laimbeer...Bad Boy #1. I grew up watching him and the other bad boys, it was something else.

He's a definite asset to any organization, and is head coach material.

Yeah I agree, I always liked Bill Lambier as a coach he seems sharp

also I thought this was a good point:
"5) Kurt Rambis is a solid coach and so is his staff.

He’ seems pretty zen, just like his Sensei Phil Jacskon. I dunno what Bill Lambiers does during games, but he always looks busy and I like that. Kahn has taken chances on a lot of players: Beasley, Darko, Telfair. While other coaches never properly utilized them, Kurt Rambis has tried something really revolutionary: trusting them, encouraging them, and giving them a chance to try and work through mistakes. Wow, who woulda thought?

The only thing missing? Rambis needs to grow the stache again."

I hope Bill gets Darko a 3 point show that would be pretty cool

I agree on Darko never getting more that 8 boards with Love around, but I think maybe we could hope for 16 points and maybe 4-5 assists pg. Although it's a stretch

If Bill is responsible for teaching love the one dribble right hook shot then buy the man a cookie. He finally gave the big body of Kevin love a post move.
