He makes too much money and is too sucky at basketball to give anything real up. Like others have said, if they want some combination of Bassy, Ridnour, Koufos, then sure. As soon as they ask for somebody with legitimate value, it's not even a conversation.

The article says they are ready to deal him in order to "immediately improve their club". When phrased that way, it makes it sound like they would want some actual quality back. Like most of us, I wouldn't be willing to give up much, but I doubt many teams would be either, so you would think his trade value would be pretty low.
If he could be had for something like Bassy and Koufos, do we think he would be worth a look? Do we think he could contribute more than Koufos? He certainly fits the bill of a long, defensive minded player that we need. Obviously he is overpaid, but he really hasn't been given much of a chance in Memphis, here he could probably count on getting more minutes than he's ever had while only really being asked to lock down the paint defensively.
I don't know, I guess its something that might at least deserve some further consideration.

Now is the time we should be looking for guys like Thabeet. Guys with high potential, boom or bust. I'd rather fill our bench with guys like that than Gaines, Telfair, Koufos, Ellington or Hayward.

To be fair, Darko had a lot of skills Thabeet didn't. Passing, for instance. So with him it was more a case of mis-use and not being too raw.

I would take a chance on him. Maybe something involving Ridnour or Flynn for Thabeet+asset. I would give them the Utah pick, but not the memphis pick unless a serious asset was thrown in.

He's not good. Not a fan of watching him be a disappointment on the Wolves. We have enough of those on the team already.
