you'd have Telfair be the back up pg then? I think that is pretty foolish. He definitely has more potential than Telfair, and we have to play him so he at least improves his trade value, which is also much higher than Telfair's.

Its pretty clear though that Ridnour is the better player now. I do hope that changes soon, but im starting to doubt that will happen

At this point, give me Bassy and call me a fool.

I was at the game. A couple notes.

1.) We are a bad perimeter defensive team. We do not help a slasher and rotate back properly. I know this has been discussed before, but holy crap. If Darko is not in we do not defend the paint. A handful of times we would rotate if someone was on the baseline, but the paint was wide open most of the night. Ty Lawson did to us what Jonny Flynn should be doing. Pushing tempo, attacking the gaps, and finishing with quickness.

2.) Our offense is weird. We ran the basic Northfield high post triangle most of the first half and it looked ok. It looks more like a motion offense then a pro offense. In the late 3rd and early 4th we had no flow and turned it over a ton. After that we either did 1 of 2 things. 1.) Bring Beasley off a screen and let him iso, or 2.) Middle/baseline Pick and roll. We abandoned the triangle other than to get Beasley the ball and used P/R. This was incredible effective. We did this with Luke, not jonny.

3.) Kevin love needs to grow a pair in the paint. He has no paint defensive presence at all. I get that he will not block shots (but he could in college) but rotate over, use your big butt to cut off penetration. Also, on offense finish the play. There were a handful of times he would not finish a lay-up. He would pump once and go up soft. Pump a couple times and go up Beast-mode.

I wouldn't say it was any one persons fault for the loss but Martell is really kicking himself for some of the things he could have done better. I like how he acknowledges what he did wrong, and what the team did wrong.

Two things:

1. I'm glad I passed out again before the eventual chokejob

2. Looks like I shouldn't watch any Wolves games soon :(

It's good to see Beasley taking his game to another level. I thought before the season that it'd take him at least a year to get this comfortable with the new role, teammates and system but he's exceeding expectations right now. But the most important thing is he's not just doing it by shooting a ridiculous percentage on jump shots.

Seems like everyone is getting more comfortable. Ridnour has definitely stepped it up and Johnson's had his moments too. I'm not too concerned about Webster, he's still getting his legs under him really, but Flynn is definitely starting to worry. He's still a revolving door on defence, which was something I was hoping he'd improve, but he's regressed offensively which is really surprising. He should be more comfortable in this offence then Ridnour all things considered.

Oh well, on to the Nets. Would have been nice to get this win but I'm happier seeing the development from Beasley.

Nope. Nobody around here believes in anything taking time to develop. If you aren't top ten at your position in 5 games you are trash.

Unlike last year, unfortunately for Jonny the talent and play of his teammates are passing him by. For whatever reason (probably medical/lack of confidence), he obviously isn’t ready to play on this much more talented team. I for one don’t want to see him develop while he’s holding everyone else back. Let him develop with the Sioux Falls Canaries or just cut the cord and trade him.

yeh ... I had enough of Flynn last year already and now he's just that much worse ... it's not like he's having a slump. He's a crappy defender plain and simple, and on top of that, this team does not have defensive makeup to hold his hand every time up the floor. Right now there is little value of having him on the floor. Maybe swap spit and send Flynn to NY for Randolph.

The only chance we have with him is to run a box-and-none ... leave him on the other end, get the rebound, and chuck it down to him for a bunny
