However WAS fans would probably do this 3 teamer:

NYK IN: ridnour
MN IN: Kirk
WAS IN: turiaf

I think Turiaf is too important to the Knicks right now, both for the size he brings, and the aggressive defensive attitude.

On a semi-related spin, I think NYK would be interested in Tolliver. I wouldn't want to move him unless we knew Randolph was here, and we needed to find minutes for him, but that might help free up Turiaf a little.

I'm not sure how I feel about a Kirk-for-Luke swap. Luke really isn't as bad a contract as Hinrich, but Hinrich is much shorter. Do you like ripping off band-aids, or taking it slow?

Horrible for the Wolves. Hinrich is nothing like the player he once was. Ridnour is paid half Hinrich's salary.

Hinrich has only one year left on his contract after this season though... it's not that bad.

I think it might be worse for the Wizards.

Any remaining cap space that we could have had would be spent on Hinrich. That's 4,320,000 that could have been spent on another free agent. Darko Milicic by comparison is making 4,325,000 this year. That potential free agent may or may not be as good as Darko, but the fact remains that we're losing both Luke and our cap space.

First off, I'm not responding because I really want to make a case to get Hinrich. I could just see the possible benefit of having a versatile, defensive, veteran guard in Hinrich for a year and a half.

So here are my meandering ramblings in term of his contract. I am by no means a salary and cap expert. I am actually usually a little confused about it.

But in my mind, we would be trading Hinrich for Ridnour straight up and taking the 4-5 mil cap space hit next year. If we can manage to include another piece in the trade (Pekovic, Flynn, or even Ellington or Hayward), that would lighten next years cap hit.

So, in that mode of thinking, I could see the merit of adding Hinrich (just because of defense alone) if we were able to get him for the price of... lets just say Ridnour and Flynn. Washington would have a veteran backup to Wall and a possible 3rd PG project in Flynn. Not so bad, but I still wouldn't do it if I were Washington.

Or lets just say Ridnour and Pekovic. Of course, if we traded Pekovic, we'd probably want to look at getting a Hilton Armstrong in return just for big-man depth for the rest of the season. Pekovic may represent and interesting project big for Washington? And it would really take the edge of the financial hit of Hinrich's 9mil next year... leaving us at virtually the same salary figure that we would've been at before the trade (by my math anyways, feel free to correct me if I am wrong of course). Again, I'm not sure I would do it if I were Washington though.

I dunno, the more I type, the more complicated adding Hinrich becomes. Hmmmm.

But there you have it, a rambling and possibly paper-thin argument for why I believe...

It depends. If it is one of those synthetic rubbery ones, the adhesive usually seems a little less powerful. Those fabric band-aids seem to adhere like duct tape. Sooooo...

synthetic rubbery band-aids: slow peel
fabric "duct tape" band-aids: rip 'em off

In conclusion, we just need to determine if Ridnour and/or Hinrich would represent a synthetic rubbery band-aid or a fabric "duct tape" band aid and proceed accordingly.
