Flynn/Telfair for Mozgov?

Post#1 » by PHTown » Wed Jan 12, 2011 4:14 pm

When we played the Knicks early in the season(preseason even), I was impressed with Mozgov's length and the way he forced the wolves to alter a ton of shots. Our entire defense seems to hinge around funneling guys to a shot blocking center, of which we have exactly one, who is constantly in foul trouble or injured. He isn't much, but Timofey might be a good back up option, at least as someone to develop.

He was playing much more early than he is now. Anyone interested in pulling a Darko P.II and grabbing an underutilized European center from D'antoni? If so, what would it take?

Mogov=$ ~2.7/yr for 3 yrs

so straight up for Telfair would be the same salary plus save the knicks a couple of years of that salary.

For Flynn, would cost them cash first year, but they could cut him the next year if he sucks and then save cash. Maybe they would add Douglas.

I would like to get more than just a raw back up center for Flynn, but I doubt that we will be able to, as every minute he is played shows how bad he is right now.

we don't need mozgov, what we need is a veteran shooting guard. Badly, and also a veteran point guard. Just a veteran back court in general

I know Flynn's value is down, but thats precisely why we shouldn't make a deal like this.

Hell no! People really need to stop putting a cap on Flynn's career already. Mozgoz? Goodness gracious....

I'm not saying I would trade Flynn for him and I admit that I've never even seen the guy play, but I remember boxscores of when Mozgov was playing decent minutes and he always had a handful of blocks. I'm guessing he's very raw offensively, but if he's a solid defender, I would rather have him as a back-up center than Pekovic. I'm really down on Pek and don't really see how he fits over the next few years.

Or maybe you're putting a cap on Mozgov's career by comparing him to Flynn.
Eh? EHH?

I'll make a trade for Mozgov, if only so Darko and him can compare D'antoni stories. I'm not giving up Flynn for him though.

We have a need in the back court! what do we do about that?

It sounds like you will trade us AR for 1 pick. I'd just as soon stay with that.

Horrible looking trade, although Mozgov is a rookie, young and inexperienced he looks so, so clumbsy and just not a good b'ball player. No thanks.

Flynn and Telfair are nowhere near the potential Mozgov has.
