Would it be possible to get Brook Lopez within 2 year?

Post#1 » by Calinks » Tue Mar 1, 2011 3:54 am

Do you guys think we could possibly put together a package excluding Love to get Brook? Id kill to have that guy paired up with Love right now.

Any Lopez deal would have to have Outlaw attached from their end.

I'd rather have the other Lopez.

I wish we could snag Lopez, but I can't see the Timberwolves making a kickass trade

I am old school and I want my center to be a defender and rebounder. Lopez has the tools but no desire and will likely not win much because of it.

I think he'll go to Orlando in a sign and trade deal for Dwight Howard btw.

I'd rather have Bogut. What would it take to get him instead?

I'd take Lopez. I think Love is better when he's not the primary post option so he can either crash the glass or run P&R. Lopez can score and does a decent job protecting the rim, i.e. gets some blocks. His rebounding numbers are way down this year but I HAVE to think that has something to do with the mono (or other illness) that caused him to lose 20 lbs over the summer. Why else does a center go from almost 9 boards a night to less than 6?

We have no shot though. The next year in NJ will be about convincing Deron Williams that he can win in NJ. They aren't going to trade Lopez unless they get a superstar (Howard?) back. Are only chance would be if we got a top two pick and NJ loved Perry Jones.

Well with the addition of Favors and Humphries he just stopped rebounding.

I think Lopez can become a decent defender. He has a nice post game and he is just going to get better. Another key reason why I target him is becasue he seems durable. He hasn't missed many games since he had been in the league and you simply cannot say that for a lot of good 7 foot centers. Guys like Bogut, Oden, Bynum and to a much lesser extent, Darko seemed to always get banged up.

With that said, I would love to make a run at...

Lopez
Noah (Impossible to get though)
Robin Lopez
Oden

If Oden could stay healthy he'd be better than all of them but that's a slim chance.

This.

I would like us to keep ahold of Darko in any deal we make too, I still think if he solves his problem of consistency he can be a big player for us.

Lopez is having a bad season, and the rebounding is a concern. But he's still one of the best young centres in the league. Some of you are acting like he's trade fodder.

I'm all for that, I'd be able to see more wolves games on tv in one month, than I have in the past five years. Unfortunately, I don't think the Bucks would give him up for anything short of Love.
