I would assume they could interview and hire a coach during a lockout (there's no players involved), and I don't see why a lockout is a bad time to find a coach. What else is Kahn gonna do?

Rob Moor, chief executive officer of the Timberwolves and the man who hired David Kahn as president of basketball operations, said Kahn and coach Kurt Rambis will be back next year. "When we hired Kahn and Kahn hired Rambis, we promised them three years to develop a winning team," Moor said. "We figure it would take at least that long to turn the program around. We feel they are making progress despite their record."

A team source insisted this weekend that it would take a major collapse down the stretch for management to even consider replacing Rambis, who got a four-year contract with the Wolves for that very reason -- to take a lot of losses while developing the team's young talent, including still-in-Europe Ricky Rubio.

What would constitute a "major collapse?"

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

an unnamed senior official in Kahns camp is reporting they are sticking with Rambis because he has tiger blood and team record has nothing to do with how full of "winning" you are.
