If this is in response to my post, I'm sorry for not being clear. I meant the courts would rule the contract void.

It's in response to the premised of the thread.

Many NBA players have said they can play next season in Europe, but I have understood that FIBA won't proccess contracts of players with NBA contract.

here's the NBA/ACB contract - I'm assuming they have this with all the major basketball leagues - I guess my question is does Stern have the power to waive that right and say "sure, go ahead and sign w/ them for the year" if there's a lockout, or is it more convoluted than that

Technically, if it is a lock-out, I am not sure they can do anything with contracts. Whether it is resigning, waiving, or voiding. They are locked-out.

Plus, I doubt the wolves would simply let the value go. There could be no verbal agreement they would resign here. So we would be cutting them for nothing. It would still hurt our cap and we gain nothing.

If guys leave, its only going to be while the lockout occurs, there's no worry about somebody leaving during the lockout and never coming back

Derek Fisher and the Jazz?
"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."

Nice finding. The full book costs $432.00 by Amazon. Amazing price.

Not for the right bargain. Plus, if POR can have a decent frontoucrt and a healthy wallace starting for 2-3 years at SF, POR should definitely seek to explore a good return for Batum. Plus, Batum is entering his last year next season, while Johnson enters his 2nd. if Oden gets QO, it makes sense for POR to get johnson for Batum. while Rudy is good at quite a few things, his shooting is very inconsistent and POR already has three sg's on the roster. also expiring.

POR sends: Batum, Fernandez, Camby
MIN sends: Johnson, Pekovic/Milicic (either)
?

I would do this no question, and I would throw in Tolliver (even more big man depth) and the Mem 1st.

In that event, this is an absolute no-brainer for blazers. Call kahn or email bomb him with this (just make sure to highlight/bold batums name).
This is a great deal imo.

Would Portland really do Batum, Fernandez, Camby for Johnson, Milicic or Pekovic?

I would imagine it already fails due to both teams being division rivals and the Roy/Foye trade. :dontknow:
