Lakers Coach Phil Jackson compared the play to a foul on Shannon Brown last Saturday by Dallas forward Dirk Nowitzki. There was one main difference, though.

"Andrew's looked bad and the kid fell hard," Jackson said.

Bynum was acting out after getting called for an offensive foul at the other end on the previous possession.

"He was frustrated," Jackson said.

It certainly explains why he is a Lakers' fan. If he enjoys seeing douches in pain, he must get ecstatic every time Bynum breaks his knees.

The only reason Laker fans annoy me is the sheer number of them, not to mention the bandwagoners. If there were 10x the Twolves fans on this forums I'm sure everyone would hate us, too.

I asked him if he thought Bynum intended to injure him.

"If it was, it was," he said. "If it wasn't, good for him. I don't really care."

Here's an interesting tidbit: Kurt Rambis defended Bynum, saying he knows Bynum (Rambis tutored him when he was a Lakers assistant coach) and saying he was just trying to make a basketball play.

Too much allegiance to his former team and not enough defense of his own player?

You make the call.

thats **** bull ****, trust me when i say i have been one of rambis's biggest supporters and desperately have wanted him to be the coach of the future and here when we are competing....but i'm sick of his **** bull. there is absolutely no fight, passion or spirit from him on the sidelines and when you are not going to bat for your own players after a dirty play like that then you need to be out the **** door...go **** suck up to the lakers somewhere else. i want someone who cares about his players on the sideline, i wanted rambis to work out because he seems like a nice guy and can help develop players a bit but i don't see any passion e.g the warriors game, love was getting absolutely hammered continuously throughout the game and there was not the slightest rise out of rambis, teams go on 10-0 runs and it's still the same calm, blank look on his face.

give me a coach like thibs in chicago who are up, yelling, encouraging all game trying to squeeze everything he can out of his guys. its shows his player that he has passion and cares what happens on every possession both on defense and offense. the only time we have seen any real passion from rambis was the san antonio game where he got tossed....i don't give a **** if he got tossed every 5th game, stand up for your **** team and players!!!!

Did Rambis really say that was a basketball play? If so he should just go back to the Lakers already. Stand behind the team you are coaching not the one you wish you were coaching. Stupid ****.

You really think that about Rambis? Wow.

Yeah he led with the elbow, but if I was coaching I'd take a hard foul over a wide open layup any day. If Beasley didn't fall so hard I guarantee you wouldn't be making such a big deal about it. The severity of the fall shouldn't affect your thoughts about the contact.

Bynum clotheslined Beasley, it wasn't just about the fall. Bynum made a basketball play on Beasley like McHale made a basketball play on Rambis.

Is Klomp Laimbeer?
1- Thinks that was a normal hard foul on a wide open layup. Not buying either.
2- Became a mod after Laimbeer joined the coaching staff. Maybe Rev found out?
3- Watches the wnba. Has to narrow it down.

NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT upholding the cheapshot by Bynum or denying that it deserved a F2, but here's my POV on why that scene happened.

The LAKERS are perceived as soft (still) by some of these other contenders lining up for the trophy, Celtics especially. It seems like some of these Eastern teams falsely believe that they are innately tougher than the Lakers because they're out West. Even Amar'e was trying to act tough about a month ago at MSG.

For the last few years, the Lakers start hitting the snooze bar until the AS break is over. Then they decide they want to turn into a playoff team. Then they start getting chippy and will hack other teams if given any small reason. LA knows what they're going to get in the playoffs == a bunch of teams who think they're going to push them around and crack them mentally w/ histrionics and trash talk (think JR Smith stuff). Few teams can hang w/ them if they just allow them to play 48 minutes of free flowing offense...

That stuff puts them on edge at this time of the year whereas they are lazy zombie bastards for the first 4 months. This particular squad doesn't take as much as they did about 3-5 yrs ago. I'm not trying to sound badass w/ that comment, that's what is evident when you have Ron and Barnes and Odom/Bynum who have gotten their fair share of flagrants.

Back in 06, Kobe could get closelined w/ no response from teammates at all. What I am saying is that I definitely believe there was intent behind the hit from whatever was going on that wasn't mic'd.

Beasley vowed after the game that he will play Sunday against Sacramento at home.

"It was just a hard foul, playoff foul," Beasley said. "They're getting ready for the playoffs. That's the kind of basketball you got to get used to playing."

Asked if he thought Bynum intended to injure him, he said: "If it was, it was. If it wasn't, good for him. I don't really care ... I'm not thinking about Andrew Bynum."

Why are you posting the same quotes that have been posted?

If it had been Love or Darko instead of passive Beasley they would be caring and thinking about Andrew Bynum in addition to talking about him in a negative way. Beasley doesn't seem to care or think about much so these quotes aren't going to change anyones opinion on the situation.

just saw that foul by Bynum, wow, I hope Beasley is going to be ok. He jumped up but geez how many injuries can one guy have in a year. the league did the right thing in suspending Bynum. Beasley did the classy thing and backed up even while speaking his mind about how he felt. Obviously a non basketball play and jeopardizing a players safety and career is inexcusable. Scary moment. Wow is all I can say.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington
