"Beasley guarding spot ups: 1.03 PPP (245th in the NBA) (I would blame a lot of this on Rambis' over-helping defense, because everyone on the team sucks at spot ups)."

This is one of the reasons that the iso numbers are so low, if I am understanding the data correctly. Bolded part my emphisis.

I'm pretty sure that they don't differentiate at all.

Edit:

Could be, but I don't think that the times where he helped off his man to stop penetration count as iso plays. I'm pretty sure that isos are pure 1-on-1 plays.

Another thing that I just noticed is that synergy has 1527 offensive plays listed for Beasley, but only 679 defensive plays. This makes me think that they don't have every instance of defense played by Beasley listed.

Edit 2: Now that I think about it, they probably only list the plays that Beasley is directly involved in, so the lower number makes sense. Also, I'm guessing that they don't include plays where Beasley is helping on someone else's man (those numbers would be included in the other player's page). So, if Ridnour's man beats him off the dribble, and Beasley comes over to help, then the guy misses his shot, it counts positively towards Ridnour's numbers. But if he passes out to Beasley's man, who is now open, it counts negatively towards Beasley's spot-up numbers. This could very easily be wrong, though.

Also, Beasley's iso and P&R defense numbers are so much better than his overall because nearly 50% of his listed defensive plays were spot-ups, which really dragged down his total.
