Jazz Fan here. Are you going to draft Williams or Kanter?

Post#1 » by Hoops Addict » Mon May 23, 2011 3:46 am

Hi T-Wolf fans-

Jazzfan here. Is Minnesota going to pick Williams or Kanter.

I know Williams is a bit of a tweener and your best players are forwards ( love and beasely).

Kanter appears very mobile and big in the videos. 7-1" wingspan. Great outside shot, coordinated, good handle, good rebounder.

Is he a taller version of Al Horford? Could he be about that good?

You need a center more than a forward.

Williams is awesome....a great talent.....but not exactly what you need.

I know a trade is possible, but unless you get Bogut , P. George or someone really good......shouldn't you just take the BPA?

The Jazz will probably take whover is left at #3, but management like Knight a lot. He had a 4.0 in college and is the kind of smart, non-thug kind of player the owners prefer. He is very good, but not a pass first point guard.

I wnat the jazz to take the big man Kanter, but would be very happy if you let Willaims drop to #3. :D

Good luck!

Kahn isn't sure what he's going to do yet. Lots of different scenarios could play out. A team like us, you would think we would have to draft BPA (Williams).

You tell me, I'd love to know. If you want to ask David Kahn, you can contact him at the address below:

I will just call him up then and tell him what I think.

Anyway you might want to consider consulting a psychic because even kahn doesnt know. I have to assume to he is trying to trade the pick for a proven player.

Yeah, there is too much uncertainty right now. I think Kahn is going to trade whatever gets the best value between the pick, and some of our other guys like Wes, Pekovic, Flynn and possibly even Beasley.

Securing the PG spot and obtaining a 4/5 was the priority as of last month or so. If they think Kanter can contribute right away, I can see Wes being moved, along with Pekovic and/or Tollier, for a vet. If they like Williams, then I could see Beasley being shopped for a big. No matter what, they will have to shuffle a number of pieces.

I'm guessing it will be a draft night trade.

The fans seem to have their sights on Iggy. But I have a feeling it will be pretty underwhelming whatever trade they do.

It's still up in the air. Even in this forum we're all pretty split about Williams, Kanter, and trading the pick.

yeah, I'd say we're pretty split about Williams, Kanter, Jimmer, trading the pick or just drafting Jimmer.

You're probably right. I'd say the best we can actually expect would be a trade for OJ Mayo, but it'll probably end up being a trade for the corpse of Raja Bell. Ugh.

Unless we get the better end on a deal, I'll be pretty disappointed if we come away with anyone else except Williams

We are definitely split, because I'd be really disappointed if we took Williams and kept him over Kanter or Biyombo. Picking Williams and trading down would be acceptable of course.

I keep going back and forth about Williams. He is clearly the BPA, but he is at a position where our two best players play (SF or PF).

I think he could be a good SF. He sounds like he is committed to being great there. I think he can get his body fat percentage down and his weight down to the 230 range, making him quicker on the perimeter offensively and defensively.

However, at the same time, I watch his game tape at Arizona, and I see flashes of Blake Griffin explosiveness with a better offensive arsenal. But at PF, we are already loaded.

We might suffer defensively, but I wouldn't mind a temporary Beasley/Williams/Love frontcourt. Then we can decide what two go best together, and move on from there.
