I'm going to throw a comparison out there for Mr. Williams:
Williams as a Sophomore: Height w/o shoes: 6' 7.25, Weight: 245, Wingspan: 7' 1.5", 19.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 59.5% from the field, 56.8% from 3 on 1.9 attempts, 74.6% from the line on 8.7 attempts, 1.1 apg, 2.6 to.
Player X as an NBA rookie: Height w/o shoes: 6' 7.25, Weight: 248, Wingspan: 7' 0.25", 20.9 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 41.7% from the field, 29.0% from 3 on 2.7 attempts, 75.4% from the line on 5.8 attempts, 5.9 apg, 3.5 to.
No, it's not a terribly clean comparison, but it's better than some of what I've read this morning (Paul Millsap? David West?). Player X is LeBron James. Just throwing it out there.

The problem with comparing these two sets of numbers is that there is a huge difference between putting these nubers up against NCAA Div 1 opponents and doing so against NBA opponents. Especially doing so as a rookie.

Re: NBA Draft Combine
Here's what I've been thinking lately. If we do the rumored deal to get #4, #8. We had better be coming out of this draft with Biyombo/Kanter and Burks.
I really like Biyombo's potential, but I think Kanter is going to be a really nice player, he reminds me of Al Horford in his scouting reports. The only thing that worries me is his injuries, but I think he's athletic enough, and him and Love would make a deadly rebounding combo. Kanter's d seems pretty legit from people I've talked to as well.
Burks is everything we need IMO. He's really young, athletic, slasher, and it looks like he's got the drive to be really good. I think having him as our SG eventually with Rubio would be a a nice fit if they can both get a solid shot, but even if they don't Beasley/Wes/Love are all good shooters to help spacing.
Some guys that I've been looking at that could be worth picking late...
Josh Selby - He could be a deadly 6th man IMO. Super athletic, solid shooter, struggled at KU with suspension/injuries. Seems a little like Lou Williams.
Jeremy Tyler - struggled badly in Europe, but he's very athletic and long, was a pretty good prospect before going overseas
Iman Shumpert - Huge PG(6'6", 6'9.5" wingspan), insane athlete(42" vert, 18 bench reps), can get to the line, but he settles for a lot of 3's at a low %, I think he could be worth a look as a project to add some athleticism in the backcourt as a big defender at either guard spot, as he's already a good defender in college, and has the physical tools to be special.
Davis Bertans - 6'10" great shooter, stash him overseas as he's still really young(18).

Re: NBA Draft Combine
No to Jeremy Tyler..Played against this guy here in San Diego and watched his games with my friends during High school. Yeah, he is a big guy, but he has no post moves (he relied too much on his PG to get his clean dunks right under the basket) and he swears he is a 3pt shooter, but he's not.
His work ethic is non-existant and he is living off of his genes(tall, long) that has been given to him. He left his junior year to get paid in Israel and he hasn't done anything significant with the exception of maybe 1 game in Japan(Got let go by his Israel team and ended up playing for a team in Tokyo). I have a feeling once he gets an NBA contract by some sucker team, he'll go back to his lazy ways.
Beware.

Re: NBA Draft Combine
I see some Kobe in his game. He definitely looks more polished than Burks. Brooks can shoot the ball, create, play defense, score with contact, and drive the lane strong. I know for a fact he'll be long gone before 20. If we can pull a trade off to get a pick around 8-12, he should be ours.

I really like a lineup of
Rubio
Brooks
Beasley
Love
Kanter
Every player but the PG is a legitimate scoring threat. Defense could still be something of a concern, but hopefully that is a coaching issue, and hopefully that gets adressed.

Re: NBA Draft Combine
Let's say we get that 8th pick, do you take Burks who is only 19 and can develop into a better shooter? Or draft Brooks who is 22 years old (some look at it as old) but has a "poor shot selection" despite being the only gifted offensive player at Providence + getting less minutes than Burks.
What do you do?
Note: It would be hard to pass on a 19 year old who has tools to be a solid player, can his jumper really improve though? I would hate to get a wing who shoots inconsistently.

Agree. If you swap Rubio out with Ridnour that would make a good unit to start the 2nd quarter, offensive blitz style.
