I think the OKC dynasty is already inevitable.

I guess I don't see Westbrook as a superstar talent. Durant is the superstar on that team. I think Rubio's upside is equal to Westbrook's so I don't think we need to do that trade.

One thing I think Rubio does bring is a style of play that other players will be excited about. Love is excited. Williams has already mentioned playing with him. He's the kind of playmaker that other guys want to play with and could end up being that missing piece to help draw free agents.

Bucher is on record as saying he thinks Westbrook will one day surpass Durant as the superstar on that team. I don't think that's out of the question.

Right now, I'd say Rubio is the least likely on the team to be traded

Bucher, really? "Rose is better than Lebron, and I won't listen to other arguments" Bucher? Not the most credible talking head around.

Westbrook surpassing Durant seems pretty unlikely, unless we're banking on a Durant career derailing injury.

I would still trade Rubio for him though. A Westbrook/Love combo might be something that could be kept together.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

I'd trade Rubio for him, too but I wouldn't trade Rubio and the #2 for him.

Yeah the number 2 hold so much promise until it has been used. Would you trade Rubio and Derrick Williams for Westbrook?

Like shrink said earlier, I don't think OKC is looking to get younger but older. If it was a three way with NO and OKC lands CP3. Then its may make some sense for OKC and NO. We overpay in potential but receive an all star PG. If this trade was on the table, I'd pull the trigger.

Perimeter defense is a signifcant upgrade with Westbrook and Johnson.

Westbrook provides an alternate closer to Beasley that can get to the rim and free throw line.

Maybe there is a twist where the wolves get the # 4 plus something from Ccleveland and send Rubio + #4 to NO instead of Rubio + #2.

Rubio + Beasly + #8 for Westbrook

That allows MIN to select Derrick

5.Pekovic (or FA Center signed)
4.Love
3.Derrick
2.Wesly
1.Westbrook

then trade Flynn and cash for a top 15 pick and select a SG that is available or a Center if available

We don't have #8

Westbrook has the potential. He was all nba 2nd team with a shaky jumper, and still not a great handle.

Also people saying he cost OKC are nuts. Durant needs to learn to get open better, Westbrook had to shoot, him and Harden are the only ones who can consistently create, and when Harden fouled out they were done for.

Sorry guys, have to give an outsider's (Bulls' fan's) perspective here. I don't want to seem like a naysaying anti-homer, but here goes:

1) Westbrook is really f'in good. He's 22, just put up 22/5/8 on 44% from the field and 85% from the line. He had a PER of 24 and was 2nd team all-NBA. That's awesome, that's superstar, that's Hall of Fame in the making (provided he keeps it up). He's probably in the top 10 in the NBA in terms of trade value right now.

2) Rubio was bad last year and the year before in Euroleague play, just too many holes in his game and nothing he can do efficiently. I think he'll be better in the NBA, but I don't think anyone who's unbiassed projects him to be an all-star. Just hasn't gotten better since 2008, doesn't have huge value as a prospect now. (NB: He also won't sell tickets or create buzz if he's not very good).

I'm also not crazy about Derrick Williams--I can easily see him being a little worse than Carl Landry is right now (though he could be better of course)--but I really just wanted to give an ubiassed outsider's perspective on Westbrook's and Rubio's value right now.
