You guys are quite insane in regards to Jonny Flynn's trade value.

If we can only get a 2nd for Flynn then I say just keep him and turn him into a 6th man combo guard and teach him to run off screens.

^agreed.

I'm now thinking that if we could get PHX to be interested in Flynn for their #13 we should be all over that, I'm all for throwing in #20 too.

At #2 we take Kanter(or Biyombo, but I feel Kanter is going to be a much better player, someone we can count on to score in the lowpost, grab 10-12 boards, play good D).
Then at #13 take Marshon Brooks(or Alec Burks), although I love Burks, I think Brooks would be a much better fit for our team. Better outside shooter, and defender the way it seems. Kanter-Brooks would be an awesome draft IMO.

Rubio-Brooks-Beasley-Love-Kanter
Ridnour-Wes-Webster-Randolph-Darko(or Pek if Darko is a bitch)

Obviously, I think Websters minutes would be cut almost entirely. Having Wes be the super 6th man, or even Beasley if we want more defense in the starting 5. This would make me a lot happier for the future.

Here's a concensus mock draft from today:

http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=20021

This time of year, there is more focus on the draft than ever, and picks are at their highest value. However, even as bad as Flynn was last year, I have a hard time saying that many of these players drafted outside the lottery have as good a chance as Flynn does to become a productive player.

For now, I'm treating Flynn as having the value of the 17 .. its not higher because Flynn is more expensive and starting his third year.

I have no faith in Flynn. His rookie year was really bad, especially when you go into the advanced stats, and last year he was even worse(could be due to his hip). It's just tough to have a 5'11 point guard, who can't shoot, finish, and isn't a great passer.

So what about:

PHX gets: Flynn, Peković, Ellington, #2

MIN gets: Nash, Brooks, Lopez, #13
Offense wins games, Defense wins championships...

None of those pieces alone or together is enough to move up from 13 to 2.

You guys really don't want Nash&Brooks with RoLo??????
