Its to bad the Wolves can't put Wesley Johnson and Demar Derozan in a blender and take the best from both of them.

Wesley Johnson has a beautiful jumper with range beyond the NBA 3pt line and he's just going to get more comfortable shooting them as his confidence grows. Demar doesn't have three point range and quite frankly, despite a good work ethic i'm not sure it'll ever be part of his game.

Demar Derozan has a fantastic first step that allows him to go by most players even with them playing off him due to his lack of shooting range, he also has reasonable handles but lacks floor vision to create for others. Wesley makes good choices and is actually a pretty solid passer but he just doesn't have the handles or mentality to put his athletic ability to use off the dribble even with teams trying to stick with him to challenge his shots. (If Wesley Johnson had nothing else from Derozan besides the ability to drive off the dribble he'd be an allstar type prospect)

Wesley Johnson has good defensive instincts, good lateral quickness, long arms, doesn't gamble too much and obviously brings the bonus of shot blocking skills and timing that is quite rare for a SG. Derozan would seam to have all the athletic gifts needed to be a good defender and by all accounts is a hard working kid with a good attitude, not sure if its his mentality or the culture/coaching in Toronto but his defense is horrible.

All things being equal i'd call Wesley Johnson the far more complete player and he really only has the one thing standing between himself and being a future allstar, his willingness and ability to put the ball on the floor to create offense. That being said, Derozan likely has the brighter future because that is such a huge flaw for Wesley and such a limiting factor.
