And sample size is a huge issue. Jonas has the most experience against high level competition of anyone talked about in the top 5. That should be a red flag right there about the weakness of this draft.

Actually it's pretty typical for a top 5 draft to be made of mostly college freshman and sophmores. And JV has like 14 Euroleague games under his belt, I wouldn't consider that more experience than Derrick Williams as a college sophmore.

Key words being high level competition. Say what you want about the Euroleague compared to the NBA, but it beats college ball easily.

Well, it's not atypical for no one in the top 5 to be from Europe. The top end of experience of the top 5 in this draft isn't unusual, although it is somewhat unusual for players with as little experience as Kanter and Irving to go this high in the post age-limit era.

lol now what do you think of JG comments, it's only a few clips in high school but his defensive effort, positioning, hustle and awareness are beyond awful.

AaronB in St. Paul, MN:

I've heard different things on Kanter: lazy, dominant, skilled, indifferent. Any chance the Wolves take Kanter at 2?

Steve Kyler:

Almost none... he is the 2nd best center behind Jonas Valanciunas... more chance of Jonas going #2 than Kanter.

I have yet to find a team in the top 10 that really loves him... He could go #4 to Cleveland, he could go #6 to Washington

Yes, those are pretty bad moves on defense.

But that's almost all we got. How else are you supposed evaluate his defense?

Wow...that is...pretty...pathetic display of basketball. He just stands there like he's dead, no energy or hustle.

If he's going to play like that, sign me up for BB or Jonas, I'll gladly take BB for his hustle & defense. Kanter may have the upper hand on offense vs. BB, but we have Love for that. Last thing we need is another weak defender that puts zero effort into defense.

Even if that video is old, that's just ugly.

Sounds like he did pretty well against Tristan Thompson and Marcus Morris for the Cavs workout yesterday...

Like dudie a few above me said tho, I really like Biyombo and he'd fit in right away, just don't think we can do it at 2. Hoping one of those trades shake down and we end up with 2 picks top 10 and take Biyombo second and BPA with the first one.

Turkish center Enes Kanter worked out for the Cavs on Tuesday at Cleveland Clinic Courts. His agent, Max Ergul, said he wasn't allowed to watch the proceedings.

"Judging by the huge grin on his face, Coach Byron Scott seemed very satisfied," Ergul said. "We exchanged some complimentary words."

Also on hand for the workout were Texas power forward Tristan Thompson (6-8 3/4, 228) and Kansas small forward Marcus Morris (6-8 3/4, 230). It was the second time Morris has worked out for the Cavs, which sparked rumors that they're trying to acquire another first-round pick.

The 6-11 1/4, 259-pound Kanter's workout and interview lasted at least 3 1/2 hours.

Some observers were surprised Kanter worked out against other draft prospects.

"He's never shied away from other competitors," Ergul said. "He gets bored working out by himself."

He played 17 games and over 524 minutes in Europe. That's roughly 31mpg.

It's not exactly a whole season, but it is professional ball. So if he's still shocking defensively there...then fine, its a legitimate point. But its better than trying to take anything from high school games.
