I think the Wolves are getting screwed in that deal.

Really? I think Harden is going to give the wolves at least as much, and maybe more of what they need than Love does, while Ibaka and Wes is pretty much a wash for me. But I'm pretty much sold on the idea that Harden is a solid 2-way shooting guard which I guess could be argued. I might be influenced by the idea of Williams coming in at PF, but I'm trying to keep that out of my thinking (hence the line-up).

And Thunder fans think they're getting screwed. I think swapping Wes for Ellington + Pekovic would make it fair.

I think Love is the best player in that trade, and that makes it a loss for us.

Well, I agree that's the best way to evaluate a trade but I don't think it's necessarily true in this case myself. Certainly not enough that the wolves are being screwed - but even if they are not the clear winners in the trade they might have to make deals like that to make progress. That can't wait for the perfect deal, they need to improve this team fast. Unfortunately the best piece they are adding to the team other than Rubio is another PF. They need to face reality and do what they can to get the best SG out there, even if they risk losing a trade.

I don't personally know any other Wolves fans in my area but I do hear (white) ppl talk about baseball quite often. I've heard things like "if you could trade a black player for an equally talented white player why wouldn't you do it?". I've heard the nba referred to as n***** ball too many times to bring up the Wolves in conversation anymore.

Obviously in the Twin Cities there is a bigger variety of cultures and races but in my small WI town about an hour from the Cities lots of ppl are just plain racist. I also lived in central MN for about a year and couldn't believe how racist ppl were against Native Americans.

Judging by my personal experiences i'd say having a white franchise player is a good move by a losing small market team from the midwest. If the team were winning most ppl wouldn't care what color the face of the franchise is.

You would have to be damn, damn, DAMN sure Williams was going to be a multiple All Star. Even then, I probably wouldn't do it. 20-15 doesn't come around often.

Not trading Love for anything but a homerun deal, unless I have it straight from his mouth that he will not re-sign an extension in Minnesota.

Love is a good player, he's not a franchise player. Don't get overwhelmed by his statistics with the wolves, he's not changing a team's fortune. Besides, I'm not advocating trading him for Williams - and I do think that Harden can be a bubble all-star player at his position, something the wolves definitely need. If I could think of a 3-way trade I'd prefer Eric Gordon, but this is the most realistic one I can think of at the moment. It's not a slam dunk, but not even the head of the CIA can guarantee you a slam dunk...

Is Kahn really going to blow this roster up again?

I don't think I've got a great handle on the front office, but I'd say probably not.
