I understand Nash would be a great mentor for Rubio and all but do we really want to give up one our best assets, the #2, to "rent" Nash?

We're getting more than just a Nash rental. Check out Gortat if you haven't seen much of him. He's only had a legitimate opportunity to show what he's capable of for half a season. Before that he backed up D12 so he didn't get enough minutes. He's a VERY underrated athlete. He's called the Polish Hammer for a reason.

After further thought about acquiring Igoudala... I think if we hire a new coach who runs a point guard friendly offense, then we'd be better off holding onto Wes and his tolerable contract. Nash and/or Rubio should be able to find Wes in his hot spots. That's when he's the most dangerous.

Gortat/Darko/Prestes
Love/Randolph/Tolliver
Beasley/Hayward
Johnson/Ellington
Nash/Rubio/Flynn

Nash/Gortat for #2,#20, Webster, Ridnour, Pekovic

I think people are underestimating Gortat though. 13 and 10 in Phoenix and on a nice contract for three more years.

I get a weird feeling about Gortat though. Obviously it's just my opinion, but there were a fair few Phoenix games on in Australia after the deadline and Gortat really seemed to struggle in the PnR. Maybe that was just because he didn't play it in Orlando, but yeah, I just don't see what he really does at a high level offensively.

Maybe he wouldn't have to here, with Rubio and Love, but I would rather aim a little higher with that #2 pick.

Wolves win 50 games

Suns tank... with new core.
Get top 5 pick next year....

rebuilt for a 2014+ run..

Wolves would be contending playoff team from the get go.

Um, YES PLEASE! I do this in a heartbeat. Could we still sign players to the vet minimum? Grab Hill, Prince, or Redd.

Point Guard is the most important position on the court, If there TRULY is a chance of obtaining Nash I'd say do it by any means while keeping our best scorer (Beasley)

I'd rather see the Wolves go after someone a bit more attainable like Robin Lopez who will also come at a much cheaper price. I doubt PHO trades Nash to anyone except a title contender and I would think they want to hang to Gortat as a building block for the future.

Trade the #20 + Flynn for Lopez

You get a starting quality center who is still only 23 and on his rookie wage scale with nice low post moves and a defensive presence. His numbers won't overwhelm but he had some really nice games in the Suns playoff run to the Western Finals in 09-10.

Saw this on the GB but didn't think this was worthy of it's own thread:

Very interesting. Gortat and 13 for no. 2, Pek and Flynn? OK by me.

I think I still prefer Kanter, I think he has the potential to be really good, but this gets us either Brooks or Burks, too.

I think that is just Gortat responding to a rumor. That same GB thread said it might be Marvin Williams. :dontknow:

Gortat + Brooks or Burks (#13) for Williams?

Hmmm.....

Gortat has a nice contract but he's just an average center. I'm not sure if I would do that deal. Would we send them Pek or Darko??

The people saying Marvin Williams are joking. Just like the ones saying Deron, Terrence, or Billy D. I agree that he is probably responding to the rumor of the Suns wanting #2.

I think that getting Billy Dee for Gortat would be a bargain.

Couldn't resist, and it's fitting with B Carl's name and all. :D

I don't think #2 is worth Gortat either. We'd have to be getting something else with more value than #13. It's an okay deal, but I'd be happier with Williams.

Average anything would be nice around here.

 at that scrubs video. I'd probably react the same way if I saw him except not as high pitched.
