I really don't think Flynn is the centerpiece here, but it's strange that that was the only name he could pull. You can't really infer anything from this deal.

Time to dust off the Iggy 3-way trades.

His method was goofy and quirky at first, wasting picks on all those PG's but in the end he seems to have gotten it done.

I have to believe that this latest Johnny Flynn/Iggy rumor is garbage. i don't know where they pull this stuff. Flynn would have no fit on the 6ers with Lou Williams as our small 1/2 bench scorer. I am just happy a Minny/6er rumor came out because maybe it means we are talking again.

Anyway, I am a 6er fan hoping for a Wesley Johnson/ Iggy deal. He would fit nicely at 3 for us. I also thing Iggy could be good for you in the open floor w/ Rubio. I'm sure you guys have discussed it a ton, what is the consensus "fair" WJ/Iggy deal you guys have?

Does Iggy for WJ, Pekovic, and Tolliver work for you? (passes trade checker)

I think it's fair to say that most who aren't scared off by Iggy's contract would pull the trigger on this deal, although they might want to substitute Darko for Pek & Tolliver. So of the fans on this board that actually have an interest in Iggy, I'd say its the consensus.

I think that it is also fair to say that the actual Wolves' decision makers are scared off by Iggy's contract, so that deal wouldn't ever actually happen.

Yep, the deal is fine for most of us, but that contract is not liked at all by Kahn...

Player fit is perfect, but I don't know that our front office swallows the salary right now. Maybe once the new CBA kicks in and we know what the financial landscape looks like. In my opinion he's the perfect guy to put between Rubio and Beasley, and while he doesn't shoot 40% from deep, he's good enough to keep teams honest.

His skill-set would be good fit here (defense, penetration, passing), but he's got plenty of issues that keep him from being perfect (poor outside shooter, failed at being a #1, no upside, and of course, that big $42 mil contract).

With a new CBA and lock-out coming up, big salaries are more painful than ever, and I think a financial deal starting with Flynn, Webster, Tolliver (maybe include the UTA pick) is completely appropriate. Besides a $2 mil TPE this year, it's going to clear about $20-25 mil from 2011-13.

Rather do Pekovic+Webster+Flynn for Iggy but yeah I think that'd be fair with salary concerns. I hope Kahn wouldn't pass this up if it were doable, it'd show the fanbase that the team is actually trying to improve. Plus Rubio + Iggy + (#2 or the result of the pick) should have us seeing an increase in the W column.

Supposedly we have absolutley no interest in dumping Iggy. If we did want to dump him we have a much more attractive salary dump on the table than what you guys just posted, Kaman's 1 year deal and Aminu from LAC. I think TOR and CLE would also just take him for their huge TPE with nothing coming back. We also have the Monta Ellis deal (I am not a fan) so we can get talent. I can't speak for you or Kahn but I don't see how a 3 year deal could be THAT scary. Iggy had a wearing injury at the end of last year but he has been an ironman over his career. If things didn't work out this year you are only looking at 2 years and he would most likely still be tradeable.

I guess the consensus I am reading is that you guys like an Iggy for WJ trade but you don't know if your owner or gm will play the money. We'll see what happens. My gut tells me that we do the Monta bandaid trade and you guys stay put and take Williams to have a wealth of wing players.

If the Flynn deal includes Webster (not Wes) and Pekovic, I would think the 20th pick has to be included as well. Not awful exchange for Iguodala based on the team's needs, but I don't think that specific deal is the one that pulls Iguodala off of the Sixers. The biggest upside to Flynn is he may have some value at the trade deadline or next off season.

Phili will not just dump Iggy's salary as he does have trade value, besides MN's leftovers. I would love Iggy just to get a sweet finisher at the Wing, but I have a feeling we stand pat. Every 5 Minutes theres a new rumor with the wolves. What do they want a big or a wing, David Kahn can't keep his mouth shut and leaks everything. So what happens if we trade 2 williams and he turns in to an all-star? Priorities keep changing. We can Speculate all we want, but I say stand pat and let offers come to us. Personally Flynn is not even worth a 2nd round pick!

Have you noticed most of the leaks are popping up on twitters and media areas that are not Minneapolis? I really doubt that Kahn is the one leaking a good chunk of the fantastical rumors. Hack ESPN writers and the staff of the NY Post saying he leaks everything isn't really the kind of proof I'm looking for.
