The Wolves aren't going to the championship this year. Let's see who improves and ultimately pans out.

You don't develop guys by constructing a roster devoid of experience with most of the players playing out of position.

Randolph is a 4, and could see significant minutes at the 5.
Love is a 4, and could see significant minutes at the 5.
Williams is a 4, and could see significant minutes at the 3.
Beasley is a 4, and could see significant minutes at the 3.
Johnson is a 3, and could see significant minutes at the 2.

What exactly are you trying to develop doing this?

These are all high potential players, so you don't want to give up on them too early. We're just hoping a couple of them emerge as players. I don't think this team works long-term but it's fine for now.

+1. 2 or 3 of these guys will emerge head and shoulders over the others in the next couple of years. You get what you can for the rest just as Ricky really starts to come into his own, fill whatever positions remain, and voila.

But from this point forward, the Wolves shouldn't be trading for any draft picks or anyone under 25 years old.

Forward overload....One word........YES.

Best way to resolve this problem in my opinion is to move Love. AR15 can start with Beas and Wes J and D-Will can be our 6th man.

None of the guys mentioned here are so prototypical of any position that they should be labled as such. I'm pretty sure people are making these claims based mostly on height.

We would be better talking about players roles than players, "natural positions as defined James A. Naismith and Nick Nolte."

Example: Love should play off the pick-and-roll; he has a hard time contesting shots because of his height, but can use his strength to prevent deep position; he's an amazing rebounder, a great shooter and very strong passer, so is viable just about anywhere on the floor offensively.

Saying Wes is a 3, Williams is a 4, etc., doesn't say anything about how the team can or can't work with their abilities. It doesn't mean much of anything. Nothing about Derrick Williams says, "prototypical (any position)," to me.

These numbers are all BS, and pointless.
Who can you defend on the team you're playing that night, that is important.
The rest is just total crap. There is no such thing as defending a 3 or a 4.
There is a man, you can cover him, or you can't. That's it.
If he's to big for you to cover, you are probably to quick for him to cover, that's basketball.

I swear idiotic coaches and scouts just made up these damn numbers to make things easy on themselves.
