No idea, but it should be funny.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

Twolves_PR Timberwolves PR
5 #draft-night trades official. All told, #Twolves acquired Miller, Lee, future 1st, 2 future 2nds and cash for Flynn, #20 and future 2nd.

What was he hoping for anyway by saying he was just 22?
He surely had to know he doesn't have a chance to make the team after starting his career with a lie.

Anyway, I would've kept Bogdanovic. Other than that it's been a pretty solid draft.

A rule stipulation has complicated a draft-night trade of a late second-round pick between Portland and Minnesota, leaving the status of Tanguy Ngombo in limbo.

In a common practice in NBA trades on draft night, Portland selected Ngombo at the request of the Timberwolves as part of a trade. However, the 6-foot-6 forward from Qatar was not 21 as he listed on his passport, but rather 26. NBA rules state that once a player reaches 22 he may not be drafted, but rather has to be signed as a free agent.

The age oversight was made on the part of the Timberwolves, and the Blazers do not stand to be penalized. It is unknown what Portland stands to receive in the trade, or whether there will be any compensation.

There's a part of the trade we don't even know about. What were the Timberwolves going to give the Blazers before this complication happened?

The million dollar question, isn't it? I think a lot of us are hioping for a TPE going your way for Tolliver, or something like that

I must not be following some part of the rationale a lot of you share, so let me clarify what I understand you to be saying:

Because we goofed and went off the DOB on a passport, instead of on the internet - we are certainly responsible for the forfeited pick, don't get me wrong - you hope that we, just... give you Anthony Tolliver. Is that correct?

No, I misspoke....er typed.

A lot hope that Portland trades for the second rounder with equal value.. another second rounder in another draft, or whatever. However, with the extreme logjam you guys now have at the 4/5, might it make sense financially, or whatever to ship Tolliver to Portland for a TPE and another asset? It's not like we are talking about an all star here? Does it make sense for the Wolves or their owner to send out a couple of million dollars in salary for a TPE? Maybe adding cash to the deal? Or taking a bad contract back? Just thinking outside the box. I'm not saying to include anyone as a punishment though. It's never fun for fans to hear, but a lot of owners value the mighty dollar more than winning. 4-5 million dollars in your owners pocket might be worth more to him than Tollivers 7/4 numbers?

Alright, I gotcha.

Firstly, the TPE thing doesn't work. We're under the cap (and therefore can't receive a TPE) and Portland is over the cap (and therefore can't create a TPE). That's true for the 2011 season, and probably should hold for however a cap would look with a new CBA.

Our presumed logjam at forward costs Tolli some minutes when everyone is healthy and not in foul trouble, but to build for those nights is foolish. He's an awesome guy, and that's pretty well known in even the casual fanbase. He has a sense of humor, he likes the Twin Cities, and he plays his butt off and brings something to the table every time he's on the floor.

While we're planning (hoping) that Randolph is primarily a center (and we'll sort out Darko/Pek/Miller), I think the only reason you'd find anybody looking to move Tolliver is if he's being prevented from developing his career. He's making $2 MM next year, and seems to be the kind of guy that won't complain if he sees 5 minutes for 15 games, but earns every penny of his salary if there's a stretch where he gets out there for 30 minutes a night.

I expect that the resolution will be the original trade is ruled finalized once it's able and then the pick is nullified.

According to wiretap, Minny is sending us a future 2nd for Tanguy. No idea when we'll get the pick, but sounds good to me.
