Did some gesture afterwards with the hands (maybe 3-goggle, not sure) , all smiling

Smooth shooting technique. I thought he only shot those dreadful hooks. Why cant he shoot a jumpshot and not hook shot from 15f.

Darko used to shoot from deep when he was younger.. then I guess he was told not to shoot in the NBA and lost all his confidence

Martell: Tell them your name and where you're from.
Darko (hunched over, head down): The Darkness. Serbia.

It was cool to be there live and see the players up close. It was a free event so I'm not trying to hate. I just came with the mindset that it was going to be a more serious legitimate scrimmage. I thought Adelman would be out there telling the players what to do, work on drills, etc.

They played pig, lightning, jacked up bunch of halfcourt shots, "scrimmage" Darko shooting 3s, players not trying, and the dancing/singing with the rookies not even doing anything. Dunking was cool to see up close but it's just the D-Will windmill and Beasley can't even do the tricks he used to do in his HS days.

Some of the fans are kind of homerish airheads I've started take notice. If Rubio were to eat a big mac and wave at people center court, the whole crowd would be laughing hysterically and give him a standing ovation. I'm excited as anybody for Rubio to be here and he is a funny guy, no doubt, but the obsession is starting to go a bit overboard (IMO).

Gotta admit, that would be priceless.

I mean it definitely would be something random and could chuckle about it. I guess whatever he does, even watching TV eating a bowl of cereal, people will go nuts and love it. My only point I'm trying to make is that he'll do anything at anytime and people are overly obsessed. He's definitely the main attraction on the team.

homerish airheads  There's some marketing potential in that. Instead of "Guys Night" @ the target center, they can have Homerish Airheads night

I was mostly joking. I suppose my concern is that these airheads are going to be the same people who turn on him as soon as he has a bad game.

My thoughts as well. He has this bandwagon surrounding him now, but as soon as he has that month of funk, those people will already be calling him a bust.

I was mad I could not be there as I had a final at noon. Sounds like I didn't miss much, but I would still have gone if I could have. I had such serious NBA withdrawals that I'm still watching every crappy preseason game I can while studying for finals haha.

Don't feel bad, I've watched that first preseason game four times now. Garbage game or not, it was fun to watch the Wolves execute, play with energy, and show some of the potential we've been dying for. I call it two hours of hope.......

...and then came Wednesday night.

When he was training in LA, didn't he say that was something he was looking forward to not having? (the obsessed fans, not the big macs)

Don't remember that part but it wouldn't surprise me one bit. At the airport greeting, fans had signs and were telling him that they love him. He was like "That's kind of weird".

Not only does Malcolm Lee look like John Wall, he dances like him too.

Bah, don't worry, it's only the "new-kid-in-town" syndrom, but when he does a bad game you can be sure he will be crucified at the same intensity by the same people who love now everything he does. Fortunately, he already passed this crap at Spain.

No, he will be much less criticized here than in Spain.
The Timberwolves have had bad PGs for so long that Rubio, even when he plays poorly, will be well liked. The media here will be nice and nicer to him.
