Re: Real GM Wolves Create-A-Team Tournament 2k12 Edition
Post game summary:
Incredibly close game in the first half. Blake Griffin opened the game up with his scoring and he continued to do so over and over again. Deron Williams has been incredible at the 1 spot feeding players in transition and scoring when needed. I don't know what it is about the knicks either but they have been playing probably the best defense of any team so far. They score on turnovers and Bogut manages to get in everyone's face.
In the 3rd quarter the Kicks started to separate themselves from the Clippers with their defense and smooth offensive play. Kevin Durant came alive started making the Clippers pay on the perimeter. Tyreke Evans often found himself matched up with Nash and he wasn't afraid to post Nash up and take him to the wood shed.
Going into the 4th the Clippers were trying to put together a run as Steve Nash came back to life for a bit and hit a couple of shots but they really couldn't marshal the production needed to keep up with the Knicks pace and in the end...
Klomp's Clippers get eliminated by dunkonu21's Knicks 89-90

Re: Real GM Wolves Create-A-Team Tournament 2k12 Edition
Halftime Report:
1st half of game one in under wraps and its a dozy. Both teams are shooting lights out around 50%. Wolves have hit
In the first quarter Lebron James had the scoring load, at one point he scored 10 of the teams 12 points. After that Monta took over the rains and Ellis now has 17 points at the half. Wolves are shooting 50% from behind the arc 5 threes already. KG also has 10 boards at the half
for the Knicks Tyreke Evans is by far and away the best scorer. He has 19 points and two steals at the half. Bogut has 6 boards but he can't score at all on Dwight or Garnett. Kevin Durant is struggling with only 6 points. He is 2-10.
The game is still close but the Knicks really need to turn things around in a hurry because the Wolves are capable of running away at any moment.
Wolves lead, 52-46.

Re: Real GM Wolves Create-A-Team Tournament 2k12 Edition
Post game recap:
SIZE. That seems to be the word of this game. The Timberwolves just had too much size for the the New York Knicks throughout. KG and Dwight Howard dominate te paint at both ends. Lebron James finds the mismatch and post up Daren Williams for an easy two. The Wolves were just too big and strong and they quickly blew the hinges off the door in the second half to pull ahead and stay ahead.
For the Knicks Tyreke Evans continued to dumbfound the wolves stellar defense and he got to he rim at will but the rest of his team was nowhere to be found. Kevin Love finally came to life down the stretch but the game was already decided well before that point. After having a great playoff performance, Andre Bogut has been disappointing. Maybe he's star struck, maybe he's tired, maybe he just isn't as good as we thought but the Knicks are going to need him to step up for game 2.
Wovles dominated statistically pretty much across the board. They only trailed in two categories and those barely. Wolves had 44 rebounds to the Knicks 30. Wolves scored 66 points in the paint while the Knicks managed 46.This was a blow out, there was no suspense or drama well before the game over.
The Timberwolves take game one 103-87.

Re: Real GM Wolves Create-A-Team Tournament 2k12 Edition
Game Recap:
The Knicks started the second half with purpose. They didn't want to lose it all in just 2 games. Durant made a tough layup and even Andrew Bogut made an appearance. The Knicks again took the lead but Minnesota wouldn't let them enjoy it for too long. Dwight Howard has been a nightmare for Andrew Bogut all series long with his size and aggressiveness. In the third he went after Bogut to get some easy points. Then John Wall came to laugh scoring a number of points and before you knew, the wolves took the quarter 28-17.
During the fourth the Knicks hot back into their grove and they started to trade points with the Wolves. This would be all fine and well but the Knicks were behind, they needed more. Mike Miller came off the bench and brought that spark, scoring some key buckets and bringing the Knicks closer.
Turnovers really started to hurt New York though as they struggled to get into the paint often and wound up losing the ball. The Timberwolves capitalized on those mistakes and got buckets off of turnovers and misses. With Garnett and Howard working the boards and making sure that most of the Knicks' possessions were one and one, the Timberwolves were able to seal away the victory.
Timberwolves win it all, 101-92SpencerBusch is the forum NBA champion!
The wolves won every category except bench points and they only lost that by one point.
Player of the game: Monta Ellis. Every night it's a different player for Minnesota but tonight Monta came up big. Dropping 30 points, 6 of them three's put him over the top. Lebron got to sit back and watch someone else dominate.
Box scores:
Knicks:
http://lockerz.com/s/165546797
Timberwolves:
http://lockerz.com/s/165546632
Game Notes:
Bogut: 6 pts, 10 reb, 1 blk
Aldrige: 6 pts, 1 reb, 1 ast
Bogut was a big let down in the last few games. Early on he looked great but he sucked in the end. Aldrige was really terrible in this game, KG ate his lunch on multiple occasions.

Thanks everybody for playing. SpencerBusch's team really seemed unstoppable, they didn't lose one game. KG and Dwight are what made that team, they caused problems everywhere and then Lebron tool care of all the scoring. Pretty fun to see all of these creations and how they played out.

Re: Real GM Wolves Create-A-Team Tournament 2k12 Edition
Yea that's pretty much how it worked out. Although there was a team or two that were rated higher. End of the day though that wolves team had the best make up for this game. KG was always getting like 12+ boards, no one could guard Dwight, Lebron did whatever he wanted and they had outside shooting. Seems like a lot of the other bigs didn't tale shots or they couldn't hit them.
I thought the Clippers might win because in every game, Blake Griffin was getting points off at a high rate. The Knicks came close to losing once but Deron Williams hit a ridiculous three to put the game away. It was like 7 feet beyond the three point line.

This was super fun to read up on! We should do this again with more teams or something? Maybe have like a draft order or some such ?

Yea, I'd have to figure out a way to make it more fun for everyone. Better team parity is one thing that would have to be improved. Maybe I'll think it over and start up a new and improved one sometime.
