Why do people keep on saying things like this? It's even worse with Love. Both Love and Beasley will be Restricted Free Agents. That means that the Wolves have the right to match absolutely any offer that either of them gets in free agency. For Love, that means that he's going to be re-signed here no matter what. For Beasley, that means that unless he gets some ridiculous offer somewhere (unlikely), or if the team completely sours on him (somewhat likely), he will also be re-signed.

Love is getting a max deal. 82 million 5 years Rudy Gay like contract.

I feel like we are already seeing better things out of the Beas under our new coaching staff. Who knows, if we start winning games (currently 2-3) then maybe he even puts in more defensive effort. I think he'll show himself a player worthy of holding onto by the end of the year.

Make me look good supercoolMike.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I would love to see more of Rubio on the court at the same time as Mike. Getting Mike easy buckets without him thinking he has to do it all on his own would go a long way in his confidence. Keep the talent on the court as much as possible, and let these guys mesh

If he keeps playing like he did last night, I'm thinking he'll keep those two fingers taped together all year ;)

His trade value is in the toilet now anyway.

Better to play him, and see if being in a contract year, and listening to Adelman, will help him fulfill more of his massive potential.

^^^ yes and then put his energy into defense ... if he wants a good long-term contract

Have Pek sneak into his room and krazy glue the fingers together. It has to be Pek so if Beas wakes up he will be relieved he is only getting his fingers glued.

Plus we don't have a lot of alternatives in this shortened season.

Lee, Webster, and Miller are out. Adelman is reluctant to play Williams at the 3. Everyone has been pretty lukewarm with Ellington and Johnson.

I'd prefer to keep Beasley, but I saw this on the Trade Board:

sd1306 wrote:Suns pressing needs: a go to scorer, someone fearless to take the ball to the hoop and get to the line and always willing to take the last shot. Preferably a PF, but a wing will suffice depending on what is needed in return.

On the block: Frye, Lopez, Chill, Lawal, Telfair, Price

Don't wanna trade, but might for the right player/package: Dudley, Brown, Gortat, Nash

Pick is only available in a deal for a major upgrade unless there is protection involved.

Targets: Pau Gasol, Elton Brand + (Iggy/Young/Turner), Kevin Martin + Louis Scola, Josh Smith, Paul Millsap, Al Jefferson, Ellis, Tony Parker (would have to include a Nash trade), Rudy Gay, Beasley

I actually think Beasley would be a good fit in PHX, but aside from Gortat, I don't think we match up well in trade at all.

Phoenix really needs to unload their vets to move forward. I would love Nash, but I can only see them trading him to a contender.

Cleveland might be a good play for Beas. I'd overpay for the right core, and Varaejo fits great to me.

Michael Beasley
Nichola Pekovic

for

Anderson Varaejo
Anthony Parker(to fill some SF mins.)

Kahn basically said that its up to Beasley this season to determine what happens with his future in Minnesota.

If the last couple of games are not an anomaly and are indeed the start of a trend, I think SCB might make it work at SF. He's playing not-horrible defense, rebounding, and passing. His shooting has been off a little bit and I think he's putting a lot of pressure on himself, but it seems like he knows that it's time to put up or shut up. I still think it'll be awhile before he can put it all together night-in and night-out.

I agree.

Lip over at the ESPN boards made this comment, but it seems like Beasley has completely flipped expectations this season. Whereas we all thought he would be a better offensive player with (we hoped) passable defence, he's been a better defensive player with barely passable offence. If he can get his offence back, like in the San An game (IIRC, the time when he was driving a lot with no long jumpers), he'll be an above average starter.

Ohhh man, Love throws Beas under the bus for not passing the ball...ever

Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman emerged after Sunday's 93-72 victory ended their two-game losing streak and remarked how the ball moved better offensively against the Wizards that afternoon than it had before in this still young season.

So with the starting lineup modified to compensate for the absence of injured Michael Beasley, just why was that?

"Um," Wolves forward Kevin Love said, "Mike being out?"

He smiled as he said that and then added "I'm just kidding" twice.

Ricky Rubio's 14 assists helped the Wolves record more assists (22) than turnovers (16) for the first time since their season-opening loss to Oklahoma City.

Is it just a coincidence that the ball moved like it did with Beasley home rehabbing a sprained foot?

Does it move better without him?

"Well, it did today because we didn't have him," Adelman said. "It's something we have to learn. It's something we've been talking about all year long. Sometimes, especially early in the game, you have to move the ball to help your teammates as much as you try to score yourself. If you play right, the ball is going to come back to you if you're doing the right thing."
More Love

So ... was Love really kidding?

"You know, I defer," he said, looking away.

He added: "When we move the ball, it starts with the point guard and it's contagious. With Ricky and Luke [Ridnour] and J.J. [Barea], it starts with those guys. When we do that, we get good looks with this offense. We're talented enough. We have the players who can make plays off pick-and-rolls. We're most effective when we move the ball, when we make three-plus passes and we get open shots."

His method was goofy and quirky at first, wasting picks on all those PG's but in the end he seems to have gotten it done.

Beasley needed a wake-up call. Hopefully this does the trick
