Since this was Pekovic's night, I have to share this. A few games ago, I was watching the Wolves game with my girlfriend, and Pekovic scored and my girlfriend said "Way to go Pecker!" So now she refers to him as Pecker.

Why did Wayne not getting many minutes? He got a few minutes in the first half, just like Wed, and played very well in limited time. Even hit the only shot he took, a deep contested 3.

INCREDIBLY glad Minn won, and I'm not complaining, but some of Adelman's rotations aren't making the most of sense.

Beasley was awesome in the first half, but when he came in in the second half, they weren't running the same sets/plays that they did when he was so effective early on. He didn't look happy when Adelman subbed Wes in for him in the 2nd half.

Thoughts?

Just got done. Having read the game thread and most postgame reaction from other threads here before watching the game, I realize how much people around here have kneejerk reactions.

-Darko was by far the worst in the game, and was rewarded with only 8 minutes played.
-I don't blame Adelman for playing Beasley so little in the second half. He was struggling at times to guard Shawne Williams that half, and the rest of the half NJ was in a 3-guard set, so Beasley would've had to guard Morrow. They could've put him at the 4, but that would mean taking out either Love or Pekovic, who were both more deserving of playing time.
-Ridnour is not nearly as bad as people make him out to be on here. Neither is Barea. I don't love the two-PG lineup either, but it hasn't worked that badly.
-Pekovic was a beast offensively, but really struggled defensively, and the Nets' frontcourt isn't that good.
-I don't even know what to say about Ricky. Wow!
-I'll agree with the posts earlier in this thread, the Nets' commentators are GOOD. The Coors Light Freeze Cam of Love's beard was epic!

NIIIIIKOOOOOOLLLLAAA!

Are there any videos up showing all of Pek's highlights in the game? Didn't watch the game and the game recap videos have barely any Pek.

Watching the game right now on demand. Just finished the 1st quarter. My impressions so far: Beasley is playing the way basically everyone here wants him to play, Darko with the usual missed bunnies (his lone basket should have been a dunk, too, but that's not gonna happen), Wes still can't get a shot to go but I've liked his D, Rubio with a few risky passes that resulted in turnovers. But I like it so far. Their announcers are great, too.

The beginning of the 2nd quarter has been nothing but excellent.

But the ensuing Nets run reminded me of the dark ages of Rambis' defensive schemes. Way too many wide open three point shots.

Oh, and Barea is very trigger happy.

My thoughts on Pek's performance:

I've been quite impressed with Wes so far. His defense has been good, as I mentioned earlier (although he doesn't really have a tough match up defensively) and he has looked poised. He hasn't even smiled, yet.

Just a great insightful post.

Wait a minute, the Nets have 4 different Williams on their roster?

Trade Derrick Williams for Brook Lopez and they can rock an all Williams starting 5.

A couple of years ago, when ricky was drafted and i just didnt post because i really believed that every post in a internet forum kills 2000 neurones of your brain(i still believe that, just dont care anymore) i wrote on one of the multiple hating post against him that the only stat that Ricky will bring to the team was +20 wins as a rookie... last year we won 17, we are on pace for 30 in this shortened season, i still believe we will win 37 games...

Solid victory. Pek was awesome.

On a Nets note, I was really impressed with Morrow. Obviously it was his career game thus far, but he is the kind of player the Wolves need. Simply knocks down shots, poor mans Kevin Martin.
I wonder what it would take to get this guy?

From everything I hear on the guy, all he can do is hit outside shoots at a stellar rate. He would work well in the pick and roll game with Ricky, however, he brings nothing else. That is a definition of a role player right there, so if we do trade for him, I would try something like AR/Ellington for Morrow. Gives the nets much need big man depth and a Morrow replacement.

Wow, nice match, another chance tonight to make real a fifty-fifty. I never thought to be supporting a basketball team, but this wolves and the magician Rubio make the play something great to be seen.
