How much of that last year in his contract is guaranteed? He'd help us, but he's old, declining, and paid alot.

Derrick Williams + Utah 1st= Pau Gasol
Beasly = Dallas Trade exception
5.Pau/Pekovic
4.Love/Randolph
3.Wes/Randolph
2.Luke/Tolliver/Lee
1.Rubio/JJ
Contender.. Paul Pierce would make us contenders, but that be too much ca$h...
Unless its Darko + and Ca$h and late 1st rounder, can't see them doin it

Re: Any interest in Paul Pierce?
Pierce would clearly be a massive upgrade and close to a perfect fit.......were he younger and less expensive. I hate to get greedy here, but we just can't afford to get desperate and start trading all of our assets for 34-year-old players who make 16M a year.
The Pau deal is bad, this would probably be worse.
Unfortunately for Celts fans, as good as KG, Pierce, and Allen have been there I don't see there being a trade you can make that would make much sense for you in terms of return. KG at 21M would bring you back probably one bad contract and another likely aging player. Allen is relatively affordable at 10M, but he's still mid-30's and might get you a pic and maybe a young player, but not an elite one. Pierce has some game left, but at 16M at 34 years of age is just not worth it unless you're the Lakers and want to win while your superstar is still on your team.
Maybe bad blood should be mixed and the Celtics and the Lakers should talk about a KG/Pierce/Pau blockbuster.

Re: Any interest in Paul Pierce?
I was also thinking about this guy when Pau´s name came to the media this week.
If we want to opt to something in playoffs this or next years we will need a vet leader. Our players are too young and inexperienced, Pau could fit that role, Pierce would as well. Pierce should be interesting but has far less value than Pau due to his age. I wouldn´t give D.Williams for him... I think that would be too much (and that´s what I gess Celtics would want for him).

Much more interested in Pierce at that price than I am in trading Williams for Pau.

Agreed. Though the frequency of Paul Pierce going MIA is increasing too much for me to turn this into a 3-year relationship.

I like Pierce and adding him to Rubio, Love, and Pek would make us a pretty exciting team this year. I don't think it's something we'd really want to do though considering his age and price tag.
